The secret is to press “68888889” followed by “+” before entering “12345678.” On calculators, once you press “+,” numbers entered afterward are not shown until you complete the operation.
So, as a normal calculation, “68888889” plus “12345678” equals “81234567,” but to the audience it looks like the 8 slid over.
It also looks like you made it move by tapping the calculator, but in reality you’re just pressing “=” unnoticed.
