A card that travels to the past

If you want to really astonish your audience, I recommend a card trick where the card appears to travel back in time.
First, have a spectator hold an empty card sleeve and start recording a video.
Next, have them pick any card from a deck.
Later, when you review the video, you’ll see that the card they chose is now inside the sleeve that was supposed to be empty.
A card moving through time makes quite an impact, doesn’t it? If you’re curious, look up the methods behind the trick.
Time Ruler for iPhone / iPod Touch

If you want to show your friends some serious, next-level magic, how about this “Magic Kit: Master of Time”? It’s an app developed by professional magicians.
The best part is you can perform the trick while the phone stays in the spectator’s hands.
They can examine it as much as they like, and you’ll still be able to name the exact time without being off by even a minute! Amazing!
Calculator app magic with numbers flipping over

I’d like to introduce a curious magic trick where a calculator app that should be showing “666666666” somehow turns into “999999999” after you flip your phone a few times.
This trick is easy to copy because it also uses a calculation.
First, without letting your spectator see, type in “333333333” and then “+”.
Now you’re set.
Next, while showing the screen, enter “666666666” and keep flipping the phone over and back a few times.
Then, without getting caught, quickly press “=”.
The result of “333333333 + 666666666 =” will display as “999999999”.
Give it a try!
Easy magic with just one smartphone

It’s a magic trick where, even though it looks like you’ve reached into empty air, a smartphone appears in your hand in an instant.
You can also make it appear using a handkerchief; in either version, where you hide the phone is crucial.
In fact, the phone is in your hand from the start, held between your thumb and palm, and kept out of sight by controlling the angle.
Being mindful of how you produce it and refining the angles to better conceal the gimmick are key points for making it look mysterious.
Card guessing with a smartphone camera

Even though the cards are supposed to be face down, the chosen card’s face appears on the smartphone screen! It’s a magic trick where the phone seems to guess the drawn card.
In fact, this trick is simply showing a pre-recorded video of the card.
Record a video of the card you want them to “choose,” and after they actually select a card, play the video while making it look like you’re pointing the camera at the deck.
You’ll need a technique called a “force,” where the magician subtly makes the spectator pick a specific card.
Master the ways to guide the choice and give it a try!
A magic trick where the calculation result ends up being the same number as the candy’s barcode

It’s a magic trick where, even though the number should be unpredictable, it ends up matching the barcode on a snack bag! This trick uses a built-in function on your smartphone’s calculator.
After entering the numbers from the snack’s barcode into the calculator, type “+0×(0” and you’re all set.
By following this step, no matter what calculations you do afterward, pressing equals at the end will display the number you entered at the beginning.
The exact operation may vary depending on your smartphone model, so be sure to try it out yourself!

A game to guess birthdays and ages

It’s a game where you can guess someone’s birthday and age using only the calculator on a smartphone.
You don’t need any special app for magic tricks, so you can do it on the spot.
It’s tough because you have to memorize all the calculations, but it can be a great icebreaker with someone you’re meeting for the first time, so give it a try.
