bending scissors

This is a mysterious magic trick where you take scissors out of a case that hides the blades, and when you wave your hand over them, the blades appear to bend.
However, be careful—depending on the viewing angle, the secret can be revealed quite easily! The scissors are bent from the start, so handle them with care!
A prophecy of numbers using a calendar

It’s a magic trick using a calendar.
First, have someone outline a 4-column by 4-row block of numbers on the calendar.
The magician then predicts the total and writes it down on a note.
Next, ask them to circle any one number and draw lines through the entire row and column of that number.
From the remaining numbers without lines, have them choose another number and do the same—circle it and draw lines through its row and column.
Repeat this two more times, and then add up the four chosen numbers.
When you open the note, the predicted total matches perfectly! The secret is that if you add the numbers on the two diagonals of the 4×4 block and then double that sum, you get the final total.
It’s a curious number trick that stays entertaining even after you reveal the method.
Simple prediction magic

It’s a magic trick where you prepare a sheet of paper with a grid drawn on the back and a pattern on the front.
With the paper turned to the back side, you have someone cut along the grid lines, then you match the cut-out pieces to the pattern.
The secret is very simple: after the cutting, you just move the pieces so that the parts of the pattern drawn at both ends end up where the cuts were made.
It’s easy to do even without any sleight-of-hand, so I recommend it.

Magic you can do with just paper and a pen

We divide a single sheet of paper into nine pieces and have someone tear them by hand.
Then we guess the card on which they wrote their favorite number, but there’s nothing particularly difficult about it.
It’s fine if we specify in advance which piece they should write their favorite number on.
When the paper is torn into nine pieces, only the center piece ends up with tear marks on all four sides, so we can immediately tell which number they wrote!
Did the contents of the envelope cut open with scissors return to their original state?

Prepare an envelope, scissors, and a banknote.
Put the banknote into the envelope and cut straight across the middle with the scissors.
The banknote inside will appear to be cut in half, but with a magic spell it’s restored to normal! The secret is to make a slit on the back of the envelope beforehand.
Place a banknote that’s been folded in half below the slit, then insert another banknote from the top, pull it out through the slit, fold it in half, and cut between the two banknotes so that only the hidden one is cut.
Teleporting numbers on a calculator

A simple magic trick using a calculator.
After entering the numbers from 1 to 8 on the calculator, the final display shows that the number of eights instantly moves to the far left.
It happens so quickly that you can’t believe your eyes.
In reality, you first enter a special number, then just add the numbers starting from 1, and somehow the result becomes a sequence where the eights line up starting from the leftmost side.
It’s an entertaining trick that’s fun even without understanding the theory.
Magic using a mechanical pencil lead case

This is a magic trick using a case that holds mechanical pencil leads.
The case looks completely white on both sides, but after placing a hand over it and looking again, a pattern appears.
In reality, it’s a case with a front and back: you show the white side, avoid pointing it toward the patterned side, and simply rotate it 180 degrees to make it look as if the white side has flipped—it’s a sleight-of-hand trick.
