Fun Crafts Using Straws (41–50)
A soccer game you can make with straws

How about making a simple toy out of straws so you can enjoy soccer at home? It’s a fun, engaging game you can play together with friends or family! Another great point is that you can make it using familiar materials like an empty box and some straws.
Use the empty box to create the field and the straws to build the goals.
Attach straws to the player pieces you cut out from the box, and control them as you play.
It could be even more exciting to model the players after your favorite stars! This toy is sure to help kids develop dexterity and concentration.
We’ve shared detailed instructions in a video, so check it out and give it a try!
Make a bow and arrow with straws!

A piece you worked hard to make yourself becomes twice as fun if you can play with it afterward, right? So this time, we’re introducing a bow and arrow you can make with straws.
You can use either thick boba straws or regular straws.
Besides the straws, you’ll just need common household items like a toilet paper roll and rubber bands, so it’s easy to prepare.
The projectile that the bow shoots is made from the toilet paper roll and rubber bands.
Make the bow using a straw and a spherical Styrofoam ball.
Once it’s finished, just aim and shoot at targets made from paper plates or balloons.
Kids will enjoy crafting it with the excitement of being able to play with it after it’s done.
A hand that moves freely when you pull the string
https://www.tiktok.com/@moonchan_chiiku/video/7437292568339074311This is a fun toy where a paper hand moves freely by pulling strings.
First, cut construction paper into the shape of a hand.
Apply double-sided tape along each finger, then attach short pieces of straw—each with a string threaded through it—lined up along the fingers.
Gather all the strings around the wrist area, stick a label or sticker on the end of each string, and you’re done! When you pull a sticker, the corresponding finger moves.
If you pull all the strings to move the fingers, you can even make a fist! It’s an easy, enjoyable toy to make, so give it a try.
easel

From an environmental standpoint, many places have switched from plastic straws to paper ones.
A craft I recommend using paper straws for is an easel.
You can make it easily with just four paper straws and some twine, so give it a try.
You thread the twine through the straws to assemble it, and this threading work can also help improve concentration.
It’s also a great idea to display your own drawings on the easel you make.
Since it’s paper, it’s convenient that you can easily attach things with glue.
Straw Robot Hand

A robot hand made with straws is a fascinating craft with uniquely mechanical movements.
Just treat each straw as a finger and attach them to a palm piece, and it’s complete! By threading strings through the finger parts, pulling the strings makes the fingers move.
If you cut the sections that correspond to the finger joints, the motion becomes adjusted and results in a more natural movement.
Simply watching its curious motions is fun, but trying a game of rock-paper-scissors with it also sounds interesting.
heart

Let me introduce a heart made with straws.
You’ll use two straws and finish it by weaving them together.
To make it easier to weave, flatten the straws first.
Since it’s easy to lose track of the weaving at the beginning, using straws in different colors is recommended.
The finished heart looks cute and three-dimensional when combined with an illustration as an accent on a card! Because it involves detailed handiwork, it also helps develop concentration.
origami crane

This decoration uses straws to outline an origami crane, conveying a sense of mechanical beauty.
One of its major charms is how it moves in the breeze when hung and the shadows it casts when light hits it.
The process is simply threading string through short, cut straw pieces and securing them, but small refinements—such as adjusting the length of each piece and reinforcing the joints—are crucial.
It’s also recommended to unfold a paper crane you’ve made and use its crease lines to measure the sizes of the parts.
By paying attention to precise sizing, you’ll achieve a more beautiful finished piece.
