Classic Western hip-hop tracks recommended for summer (41–50)
In A MinuteLil Baby

Rapper Lil Baby, who fulfilled his long-held dream by winning a Grammy in 2022, has once again been getting props from many heads.
I imagine many people got to know him through the Grammys.
Among his works, the one I recommend for summer is In A Minute.
While it’s not a summer-themed track, it was one of the standout songs in the 2022 hip-hop scene, so if you play it during a drive or at a barbecue, it’s sure to get the vibe going.

Big PoppaThe Notorious B.I.G.

After a fierce, history-making beef with Tupac that ended in a hail of bullets, the legendary heavyweight rapper The Notorious B.I.G.
passed away.
This track is his highly acclaimed classic, “Big Poppa.” It samples the song “Between the Sheets,” which has been sampled by many rappers, but “Big Poppa” stands out among them as a particularly high-class, stylish work.
It remains a timeless song that influenced rappers of its era and is still loved today.
While the lyrics are extremely vulgar, the music itself is superbly mellow and smooth—a perfect tune for summer.
Rollout (My Business)Ludacris

A hip-hop classic by Ludacris, a popular artist who has earned immense trust for his beat-driven approach powered by high-speed rapping skills.
Its positive lyrics make it a perfect recommendation for summer.
Sittin’ Sidewayz ft. Big PokeyPaul Wall

Despite making his first appearance on the scene with his debut album The Peoples Champ, American rapper Paul Wall pulled off an incredible feat by debuting at No.
1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
One of his signature tracks is Sittin’ Sidewayz ft.
Big Pokey.
Included on the aforementioned album, the song showcased trap music that hadn’t yet permeated the scene at the time and garnered massive support.
Its dark trap vibe is perfect for a summer night drive.
Be sure to check it out.
AnacondaNicki Minaj

The intensely provocative lyrics that weaponize her physical allure to tease men are absolutely striking.
This is a work released in August 2014 by Nicki Minaj, an artist from Trinidad and Tobago who cemented her position as a leading female rapper.
Included on the acclaimed album “The Pinkprint,” the track boldly reconstructs a male-perspective song through sampling into a piece where a woman actively flaunts her sexuality.
It was so extreme that it was even banned from being played in certain regions.
The music video shocked the world, surpassing 100 million views in just 11 days after its release.
When you want to express yourself with confidence, why not surrender to the powerful beat of this track?
Mr. WendalArrested Development

This hip-hop classic by Arrested Development features a fresh track approach that uses country and acoustic flavors as an essence.
Its breezy style and melodic feel lift your mood, making it a great recommendation for summer.
Be FaithfulFatman Scoop

As the name suggests, rapper Fatman Scoop is known for his big-bodied trademark presence.
His 1999 release “Be Faithful” is a slightly unusual hip-hop tune featuring the rap group The Crooklyn Clan.
A repeating main phrase—almost like a guitar riff—loops in the background the entire time, with no major shifts in the song’s structure.
Yet over that, he comes in hard with loud, driving rap, creating a strangely compelling feel on first listen—and once it clicks, your energy shoots way up.
It’s the perfect track to blast when you want to go all out under the summer sun!
