Promise in Madder Redikimonogakari

When it comes to Ikimono-gakari’s sunset songs, “Akane-iro no Yakusoku” is the one that comes to mind! It’s a song written by member Mizuno with the theme of a wedding, and it was even performed at vocalist Yoshioka’s older brother’s wedding.
It depicts two people deepening their bond as they watch the sunset, and listening to it with someone important gently warms your heart.
While many sunset-themed songs tend to feel a bit lonely, this is the one to play when you want to feel positive.
It was also used in commercials and as a TV theme song, making it a well-known classic.
An inch of redyama

This is the song featured in the final episode of Seven-Eleven’s original anime “Rainbow Finder: The Thrill Is Right Nearby.” The lyrics and composition are by Nio, and the music video illustrations were created by Tomowaka.
Yama’s gentle voice, carried by the calm melody, really resonates with the heart.
It’s a track that makes you inexplicably want to see someone when you listen to it while watching the sunset.
It also suits an evening drive, so why not play it in the car on your way to see someone special and let your thoughts wander?
Evening of the full moonSōru Furawā Yunion

“Mangetsu no Yūbe” (Full Moon Evening) is a single by Soul Flower Union released in 1995.
The title is written as “満月の夕” and read “mangetsu no yūbe.” After the Great Hanshin Earthquake, they visited evacuation shelters under the band name Mononoke Summit.
This song was created during that time.
Its title comes from the fact that it was a full moon on the day of the earthquake.
The lyrics are rich in scenic imagery, and you can sense the transition from dusk to a moonlit night.
Melting into the sunsetKamishiraishi Mone

A signature song by Mone Kamishiraishi that paints a gentle sunset landscape through music.
Included on the album “name,” released in July 2022, it was also used as the ending theme for TBS’s news program “news23.” Produced by Takeshi Kobayashi, the track offers the courage to find hope for tomorrow amid a chaotic world.
Accompanied by tender piano tones, Kamishiraishi’s translucent vocals sink deep into the heart.
It’s a song that sits alongside the day’s news while allowing each listener their own interpretation.
Perfect for the end of a busy day—listen as you watch the evening sun, and you’ll surely be wrapped in a warm voice that stays close to your heart.
OrangeSMAP

“Orange,” a song by SMAP that’s also famous as a choral piece.
As the title suggests, its world is set against the backdrop of a sunset.
The wistful melody of the chorus leaves a strong impression, carrying an emotional resonance that tightens the chest.
If you sang this at a chorus competition back in the day, listening to it again after a few years might let you enjoy it in a different way than before.
How about humming it once more on your way home at dusk?
Tokyo Sunsetback number

Every song by the rock band back number is beautiful and emotional.
Their track “Tokyo no Yuuyake” (“Tokyo Sunset”) is exactly that kind of song.
While it’s themed around the place called Tokyo, I think it resonates with many people all across Japan.
If you listen with the image of dusk in the background and focus on the lyrics, you’ll surely find parts that connect with your own feelings.
Although it was released in 2015, it’s a song that stays close to sunsets across all generations.

twilightAnarogu Fisshu

It’s a twilight rock number with an avant-garde vibe.
It’s a track by the three-piece rock band Analogfish, included on their major-label debut album “Analogfish,” released in 2004.
First performed during their indie days, it’s a piece born in the early stages of their career.
Its hallmarks are a dry sound, a distinctive melodic line, and lyrics that evoke a mysterious worldview.
You might find that before you know it, you’ve fallen under this song’s spell.
