Songs with titles that start with “te.” Perfect for shiritori karaoke or song-title shiritori!

Can you think of any words that start with “te”? There are lots, whether in Japanese or English—like “tegami” (letter), “tentai” (celestial bodies), “teen,” and “take,” to name a few.

In this article, I’ll introduce a selection of songs that start with such words—tracks with titles beginning with “te.” Feel free to use this as a hint for karaoke shiritori where you connect the last character of a song title to the next, or for shiritori played with song titles only.

Since I’m assuming you might sing them at karaoke, I’ll mainly feature well-known J-pop this time.

Songs with titles starting with “Te”. Perfect for Shiritori karaoke or song-title Shiritori! (61–70)

TELL MEhide with Spread Beaver

Hide from X JAPAN captivated not only women but many men as well.

I imagine quite a few men in their 40s admired him.

Among his songs, the one I especially recommend is TELL ME.

This track stands out for its straightforward rock sound that feels light yet passionate, and the vocal line is equally direct.

Since there aren’t any overly complicated vocal parts, it’s easy for anyone to sing.

The chorus is deliberately set in a lower register too, which is a welcome point for those who find it hard to hit higher notes.

TemperanceMAS-RAO

[Original MV] Temperance / MAS-RAO (Rei) [Shellin/Leos/Oliver/Rikichi/Nijisanji]
TemperanceMAS-RAO

This is a track whose appeal lies in its majestic, decadent worldview.

It’s performed by MAS-RAO (Rei) from MAS-RAO, a special project unit of NIJISANJI members.

Contrary to the title’s theme of “Temperance,” the lyrics depict taboo, desire, and the loss waiting at their end.

The tragic story, reminiscent of the Icarus fable, draws you deeper into its world with every listen.

The song is included on the debut single “MAS-RAO 1st,” releasing in August 2025.

Immerse yourself in this gothic, beautiful tale.

Tell Me Tell Me ☆PiKi

This PiKi track is packed with that sweet-and-sour feeling of wanting to know how your crush really feels.

Released as a single in July 2025, it was chosen as the theme song for a segment on “Oha Suta.” Riding a catchy sound woven from rhythmic beats and futuristic synthesizers, the lyrics express the pure flutter of a protagonist whose mind is completely occupied by the one they like.

The harmony blending Karen Matsumoto’s clear, translucent voice with Haruka Sakuraba’s warm tone is just wonderful.

It’s perfect for when you want to savor the heart-pounding excitement of a love that’s just beginning!

angelic volatilityYamaji

Angel Volatility / Kagamine Rin, Len
angelic volatilityYamaji

A duet song that draws you into a fragile yet beautiful world where sanctity and delicacy coexist.

It’s a work by Vocaloid producer Yamaji, released in May 2024.

Over a cool sound that fuses trap and post-rock, it portrays a precarious relationship between two people who revere each other like angels, yet sense that they will one day fade away.

The give-and-take of their lines conveys a tangle of aching emotions that tightens your chest before you know it.

Once you listen, you might find it impossible to escape this unique story.

Heaven and the White ClownEGO-WRAPPIN'

EGO-WRAPPIN’ is a music duo formed in Osaka, and they’re one of those artists I wish more people knew about.

It’s pronounced “Ego Wrappin,” and the name means “not putting oneself out front.” Apparently, they borrowed the phrase from something their favorite artists, De La Soul, once said in an interview.

I really want you to listen to this song, ‘Tengoku to Shiroi Pierrot’ (Heaven and the White Pierrot).

You’ll be surprised—like, “I had no idea music like this existed!”—because no label like art, literature, or fine art quite fits.

It might be their heaven—and their “future,” too!

Tailwindkanau

Kanae, known as a member of the YouTuber group NIJISANJI, has a solo track titled “Tailwind.” The song was produced as the opening theme for the anime Overtake! and perfectly embodies its gentle, beautiful story.

In the anime, “rain” is a key motif, and the song includes sections that reflect that theme.

Combined with his clear, expansive vocals, it’s a track that’s sure to lift your spirits.

astronomical observationFujiwara Motoo

Motoo Fujiwara is the vocalist and guitarist of the band BUMP OF CHICKEN, born in Akita City.

I thought his voice and guitar had a powerful, edgy quality.

They’re very well-known, and it made me curious which prefectures the other members are from.

This isn’t about the Band Koshien.
