1000 daysnozomi

Singer-songwriter Noshila, known for her wide musical range from comic-song style to classic pop, released “1000 Days” in 2025.

The song features moving lyrics about the three years of high school.

Its vocal range is slightly wide at mid1E to hiE, with the low notes being relatively low for a female song, so there isn’t much room to lower the key.

However, the pitch movement itself is fairly gentle, and there are many breakpoints, so finding a comfortable tone quality for your falsetto and mixed voice will be key to singing it well.

Specially, do it.=LOVE

=LOVE is an idol group produced by Rino Sashihara.

Rather than adopting the current mainstream K-pop style, they excel at classic, old-school idol songs.

Their track “Tokubechu, Shite” is a good example: while it has a cohesive, poppy feel, its vocal range is surprisingly not very wide, and the melody line moves gently without large pitch jumps.

Consider adding it to your repertoire.

I want to become a ghost.Yuika

This is the opening theme song for the TV anime “Wataru-kun’s XX Is on the Verge of Collapse,” which began airing in July 2025.

The artist Yuika is especially popular among students—some of my own students like her and sing her songs! After listening to this track, my impression is that the rhythm in the chorus is quite challenging.

If you start singing before you’ve memorized the melody, you might not know where to break phrases or where to breathe.

If you hum along while listening, you can memorize the melody, and once you can hum it lightly, you’ll be able to relax and sing more easily.

The chorus uses the same melody with only slight lyric changes, so once you get past that section, it should be easier to sing.

Also, if breathing is difficult, don’t try to sing everything at 100%; try to let your voice out bit by bit.

When you think, “I can breathe here!”, take a deep breath!

Lila Ikuta, a female singer-songwriter known as the vocalist of YOASOBI, is characterized by impeccably precise pitch control reminiscent of a Vocaloid, and she excels at dynamic vocal lines with steep ups and downs.

However, this song she performs, “Hyakka Ryoran,” is, unusually for her repertoire, a piece with relatively gentle pitch movement.

The phrasing isn’t overly dense either, so there are rests that let you prepare for the next section, making it a comparatively easy song to sing.

Cho Tokimeki♡Sendenbu is an idol group that has gained popularity with a music style and image that goes all-in on uniquely Japanese cuteness.

They’re known as successors to groups like Momoiro Clover Z and Shiritsu Ebisu Chugaku, so any high school otaku familiar with idol culture has probably heard of them.

Their track “Chou Saikyou” is one of their signature songs.

While it gives off a poppy impression, the vocal range is not that wide—mid2C to hiC#3—and the vocal lines don’t have abrupt pitch jumps, making it relatively easy.

ElfAdo

Ado, a female singer who consistently appears at the top of the Japanese music charts.

Given her overwhelming vocal prowess not only in the utaite community but across the J-pop scene, teenage girls who aren’t confident singers might not even think to try her songs in the first place.

For those listeners, we recommend Elf.

Among Ado’s tracks, this one has a relatively narrow vocal range, and it doesn’t feature the dramatic vocal lines that alternate repeatedly between falsetto and chest voice.

It’s also a big hit at karaoke, so be sure to check it out.

CANDY TUNE is an idol group from ASOBISYSTEM, currently the hottest idol agency.

They specialize in pop and cute styles, with releases from 2023.

Among their songs, the one I especially recommend is “Baibai FIGHT!” It’s popular on TikTok, so many high schoolers probably know it.

This track has a lot of spoken-style phrases, giving it a rap-like element, but in terms of following the pitch, it’s very easy to sing.

The overall sound is pop, and the vocal range is mid1 G# to hi D—so it’s not excessively wide.

If you can handle the spoken delivery, you should be able to sing it without any issues.

It’s guaranteed to hype up the crowd, so definitely add it to your repertoire.
