Karaoke songs that are easy for teenage boys to sing: selections from popular artists

You got invited to karaoke, but your voice is low and there aren’t any songs you can sing well…

There are probably more teenage guys with this concern than you’d think.

It’s uncomfortable watching time pass while everyone else is having fun and you’re the only one who can’t grab the mic, right? But don’t worry.

There are actually plenty of songs you can sing comfortably even with a low voice.

In this article, we’ve carefully selected tracks you can enjoy singing without a wide vocal range.

Many of them are easy to try even if you’re not confident in your singing, so be sure to check them out before your next karaoke outing!

[For teenage boys] Easy-to-sing karaoke songs. Selections from popular artists (81–90)

RED OUTYonezu Kenshi

Kenshi Yonezu’s new song “RED OUT.” He used to release a lot of downer-leaning tracks, but lately he’s been putting out more classic pop songs like “Lemon.” This piece isn’t one of those; it’s crafted with a recent downer vibe.

Because of that mood, the vocal line is of course calm, and the range is set relatively narrow.

For teenage males who can’t comfortably hit low notes, try raising the key by one or two steps to match your own range.

Since the overall range of this song is narrow, anyone can sing it as long as the key is properly adjusted.

The Zero Sense10-FEET

10-FEET – The Zero Sense (Ending Theme Song of the Film 'THE FIRST SLAM DUNK')
The Zero Sense10-FEET

This is 10-FEET’s 22nd single, released in November 2022 as a digital-only single.

It was selected as the ending theme song for the film THE FIRST SLAM DUNK.

It’s crafted as a very cool medium-to up-tempo rock song! The vocal melody is simple and easy to follow, so to sing it well, I think it really comes down to projecting as powerfully as you can and staying firmly locked into the rhythm of the backing track to keep the sense of groove.

Don’t sweat the small details—belt it out with strength and enjoy riding the rhythm as you sing! If you also pay attention to the rests between phrases, it’ll feel even better, so definitely experiment and fine-tune your approach.

Yuma, who is active as the “good singer” of the YouTuber group Comdot, has a track called “Jingle” that my students often sang when their throats weren’t in the best condition, saying it was easy to sing—so I think the range is likely comfortable for others as well.

The vocal range of “Jingle” is B2 to D#4, staying mostly in the low to mid register.

Of course it builds from verse A to verse B to the chorus, but unlike many songs, the range doesn’t shift much, so it should be easier to stay on pitch.

It’s a perfect song for winter, so definitely give it a try in your practice!

Marcy – Freesia (Official Music Video)

In 2024, Marcy achieved a milestone performance at the sacred Nippon Budokan, cementing their status as one of Japan’s leading young bands in both name and substance.

Their lyrics, which portray delicate emotional shifts that resonate with many in the younger generation, and their poignant, melody-driven masterpieces are also very popular at karaoke.

That said, the melodies sung by Yukyo Yoshida’s high tenor can seem challenging… For those who feel that way, we recommend Freesia, set for release in April 2025.

Its vocal range is relatively narrow and doesn’t feature particularly demanding high notes, making it easier to tackle even for those with lower voices.

Approach it with the determination to fully convey the protagonist’s emotions, and try delivering it with heartfelt intensity.

Shota Araya – Rain (Official Music Video)

Shota Araya is a singer-songwriter from Fukuoka.

He’s the former vocalist of the popular band yonawo, and since going solo he’s continued to release hit numbers and gain popularity.

Among his songs, one I especially recommend is Ame (Rain).

It uses the so-called “Marusa progression,” featuring a jazzy, catchy melody that fits today’s trends.

The vocal range is surprisingly narrow, and there’s no falsetto in any part.

It’s recommended for those who want to sing with a sexy touch, mixing in a breathy tone.

amberSEKAI NO OWAR

SEKAI NO OWARI hadn’t been in the spotlight for a while, but they’ve just dropped a hit tune: Kohaku.

When you think of SEKAI NO OWARI, the high-tone vocals by fukase are memorable, but that element is more restrained in this track.

As a result, the overall vocal range is relatively narrow for a SEKAI NO OWARI song.

Men with an average vocal range should be able to sing it comfortably in the original key.
