[Thank-You Party] Ideas for Surprises That Will Delight at Nursery Schools and Kindergartens (41–50)
Handmade Colorful Candle

By melting ordinary candles and mixing in grated crayons, you can make colorful candles with a gentle glow.
Be sure to have an adult help you.
First, shave the candles and crayons.
Spread some dish soap inside a paper cup, tie the wick to a toothpick, and set it across the cup.
Next, put the candle shavings and crayons into an aluminum cup and melt them in hot water.
Once it cools and hardens, peel open the paper cup and it’s done! By choosing and layering the colors your children like, you can create a one-of-a-kind original candle.
Decorating it with wrapping and stickers adds an extra-special touch and is highly recommended.
Non-woven wool coaster

A “no-knit yarn coaster” you can make with your child is great because all you need is cardboard and yarn.
Use a piece of cardboard measuring 16 cm by 21 cm, cut evenly spaced 1 cm slits along both short edges, and secure chopsticks at the ends.
Take two strands of yarn together and hook them into the slits one by one.
Once all the slits are threaded with yarn horizontally, start adding the vertical strands.
Using something like a flyer as a shuttle, weave the yarn so it alternates over and under the horizontal strands.
When you reach your desired size, tie off both ends and cut the excess.
It’s tricky at first, but becomes easy once you get the hang of it.
How about asking the teacher’s favorite colors and making one in those shades?
Dance ‘Paprika’

This song brightened up an NHK children’s program in 2019.
It’s not just cute—the slightly shadowy tone of the music is striking, too.
The dance the kids perform also became a hot topic.
If you secretly practice that dance without telling your teacher or someone who has helped you and then perform it, I’m sure it would make a wonderful surprise!
Handmade album

For a once-in-a-lifetime, memorable day, surprise them with a one-of-a-kind, memorable gift! In that case, a “commemorative album” is the best choice.
Even as the years go by, opening that album will bring everyone back to mind—let’s have fun making an album just like that!
Video letter
How about sending a video letter from the preschoolers and their parents to the teacher who has taken such good care of them, as a token of gratitude? If you convey heartfelt thanks in various ways through the video, I’m sure the teacher will be moved to tears with joy.
You can deliver a straightforward message, gift a favorite song, or use your own creative ideas—let’s surprise the teacher with a message of thanks!
Sketchbook Relay

The “Sketchbook Relay” has become a graduation staple.
Each child uses one page of a sketchbook to write a thank-you note or message to the teacher.
Then you edit the video so it looks like the children are passing the sketchbook to one another, connecting the clips.
After the video ends, if you give the teacher the actual sketchbook, they’ll surely be delighted.
For background music, a song that holds memories for everyone is a great choice.
Bouquet presentation

How about presenting bouquets to the teachers who have helped you and expressing your gratitude? Flowers are often used in many situations to convey feelings.
Rather than just handing them over, giving them together with heartfelt words will make the surprise even more moving.
The collaboration of adorable children and flowers is a classic hit for a thank-you party.
