Even if you’re not a K-pop fan, there’s hardly anyone who hasn’t heard of TVXQ, the male duo from South Korea.

True to their name, they’ve become artists with immense popularity across Asia.

Their performances were impressive back when they were a five-member group, and their current work as a duo is just as energetic and striking!

Enjoy this carefully curated playlist of popular songs by the legendary TVXQ, starting with their classic “Why Did I Fall in Love with You.”

Nobody knowsTōhōshinki

This is a track from the 2009 album “The Secret Code.” It’s a mid-tempo song brimming with love for the woman he cherishes, with a mature, chic elegance that really shines.

I’d love to see a man get hooked on me like this, unable to escape (lol).

It may be less well-known than other songs, but it’s a recommended track.

SCREAMTōhōshinki

If you want to revel in thrilling screams on Halloween night, this is the song I recommend.

Created by TVXQ, Asia’s proud performance duo, their 38th single released in September 2013 was also chosen as the theme song for the film Sadako 3D 2.

The fusion of fierce rock sound and electronic dance beats creates an irresistibly dark and powerful vibe.

Rather than merely trembling before looming fear and despair, the track seems to express a fierce will to confront them by unleashing a cry from the soul.

The duo’s overwhelming vocal prowess heightens the tension even further.

Also included on the album TREE, this piece invites you to immerse yourself in a horror-tinged world—and maybe let out some cool, cathartic screams at karaoke.

Choosey LoverTōhōshinki

This is their 10th Japanese single, released in 2007.

It’s a song from their five-member era; the dance and outfits in the music video feel of their time, but the sweet vocals of all five members are captivating.

It’s a classic love song where the singer says to the woman he loves, “I’ll give you my everything.” It’s a perfect fit for TVXQ, the quintessential K-pop idols.

Don’t forget.Tōhōshinki

Don't forget.Tōhōshinki

When I sing it at karaoke as often as Begin, I get so emotional that I end up crying.

Of course, I can’t hold back my tears when I listen to them sing it, either.

With lyrics and a sound that gently pierce the heart, brought to life by their vocal prowess, this song is truly wonderful.

Let’s meet on the far side of the moon.Tōhōshinki

On the milestone of their 20th anniversary since debuting in Japan, TVXQ have released a cover that revives a classic city pop masterpiece originally released in 1991.

While cherishing the original’s urbane, romantic atmosphere, this work adds a glamorous band sound and the duo’s refreshing harmonies to create a new allure.

Set against the backdrop of the night city, the lyrics—wishing for a reunion with “you”—can also be heard as their message to move forward toward a new future together with their fans.

It feels perfect for a nighttime drive with someone special.

Before K-pop became a full-fledged boom, TVXQ had already earned immense support in Japan as legendary artists.

Their performances, brimming with powerful appeal, are undeniably cool.

Since they debuted as an a cappella dance group, the five-member era’s vocal harmonies were especially striking.

I also recommend their hit song “MIROTIC,” which has been covered by various artists.

Since becoming a duo in 2011, it feels like they’ve focused even more on showcasing dance numbers.

Of course, Yunho—whose high-level dance skills are often the talk of the town—stands out, but Changmin’s dancing is also manly, stylish, and captivating.

It’s a cool dance tune released in 2010 that’s quintessentially Tohoshinki.

Right after this, a member departure issue arose, and the five of them were no longer able to perform the song together.

In a sense, it can be called a “phantom” track.
