SHINee’s classic and popular songs
Let me introduce songs by SHINee, a male group from South Korea.
SHINee is sometimes called a contemporary band, which means a group that sets trends across all areas—music, dance, fashion, and more.
Because of that, they helped popularize skinny jeans among men in Korea and sparked the trend of the “hybrid remix,” a technique that combines separate songs into a single track.
Please enjoy SHINee’s music, which has always been ahead of its time and continually pushes new boundaries.
SHINee’s Best and Most Popular Songs (1–10)
An Ode To YouSHINee

Jonghyun wrote the lyrics.
It’s said to be a song for Onew.
In 2014, Onew underwent surgery to remove throat polyps and couldn’t use his voice for a while, and he even considered leaving SHINee.
I believe the members supported him through that difficult time.
This song is thought to carry the feelings from that period.
Sleepless NightSHINee

This is a song included on an album released in South Korea in 2013.
It sings about sleepless nights spent thinking of someone, featuring a calm vocal delivery and beautiful harmonies that are soothing to listen to.
The melody has a quiet atmosphere, making it perfect before bedtime.
Be sure to pay attention to Minho’s low-tone rap as well.
ViewSHINee

The title track from the 2015 album “Odd,” with lyrics written by Jonghyun.
SHINee’s delicate vocals over a house sound leave a strong impression.
In the music video, SHINee are kidnapped by girls and end up forgetting their lives as idols, partying to the fullest in a story-driven plot.
It ends with the sound of police sirens, giving it an ambiguous, thought-provoking finish.
For SHINee, simply having fun is a beautiful “View,” but in the end they’re brought back to reality.
One could interpret the song as suggesting that SHINee performing in front of their fans is a new “View” from the fans’ perspective.
SymptomsSHINee

This is a track from the album “Everybody,” released in 2013.
Jonghyun wrote the lyrics.
He poured his entire being into the song as he depicted himself drowning in love, and the way he sings—so full of anguish—even makes you feel as though he’s trembling with the fear of what would happen if he let her go.
For a thousand years, stay by my side forever…SHINee

From the title, I expected a lonely, sad song, but the lyrics are full of hope and the track has a lively bounce.
It pleasantly defied my expectations.
The imagery evoked by the words drew me straight into the world of the music video.
The slightly painful yet moving MV unfolds like a self-contained drama.
RingDingDongSHINee

This song is characterized by an irresistibly catchy phrase and memorable choreography.
It’s included on SHINee’s mini-album “2009, Year of Us,” released in October 2009.
The lyrics portray the complex emotions of a man who has fallen in love, with his feelings for the one he loves encapsulated in the phrase “Ring Ding Dong.” The track created a major buzz in the Korean music scene and continues to be cherished as one of SHINee’s signature songs.
It’s a perfect pick for those struggling with love or anyone who needs an energy boost.
Like A FireSHINee

This is a song included on an album released in South Korea in 2013.
It’s a track that likens the singer’s feelings for the other person to fire, expressing the heat of those emotions to a short, driving rhythm.
The “Oh No!” and “Hot Hot” parts are crowd-pleasers that get audiences hyped at concerts.
The sections about not being able to convey one’s feelings well shift to a slightly calmer melody, letting you feel the emotional build-up.
Your NumberSHINee

Released in 2015, this R&B track portrays a meeting between a man and a woman.
Note how the choreography is synchronized with the lyrics, giving it a musical-like feel.
It incorporates detailed movements, such as gestures showing him wanting her phone number and actions like reading a book.
PiccasoSHINee

This is a song included on an album released in Japan in 2014.
It’s a fast-paced dance track with intense choreography that’s downright jaw-dropping.
Among fans, many love Jonghyun’s “baby ya” line.
The four members gather around Jonghyun, and the knock-like move is a signature part of the choreography.
There’s also a move in the latter half of the chorus where they flip up their jackets, which is the moment fans get the most hyped.
In the chorus, true to the song’s title, there’s a gesture that mimics drawing.
It’s an indispensable song for live performances since 2014.
Why So Serious?SHINee

Personally, this is my favorite song among SHINee’s tracks.
The choreography includes ghost-like moves, which makes it fun to watch.
Minho’s rap is addictive, and I find myself listening to it over and over.
Although one member is missing, you can still see each member’s individual skill without any rough edges showing.
