Mascara&MascarasTRICERATOPS
“Masucara & Masucaras” kicks off with a cool drum solo.
The guitar that comes in afterward is insanely cool too.
The way the distortion is dialed in is classic TRAICERATOPS—the arrangement is superb.
Using mascara as a motif, the song expresses feelings for a girl he likes.
It’s like watching a scene from a movie.
A sweet yet passionate track that’s sure to capture a girl’s heart.
Orange LighterTRICERATOPS
Seductive vocals and the cool harmony of guitars.
In TRICERATOPS’s “Orange Writer,” the laid-back, mellow vibe that pops up amid the upbeat rhythm is striking.
The vocals, sung as if pleading, make it a very cool track.

Beard and BoobsTRICERATOPS
TRICERATOPS is covering UNICORN’s “Hige to Boin.” An album with the same title, “Hige to Boin,” has also been released.
Albums usually include singles, but in this case there were no singles; it was a collection of newly written tracks.
2020TRICERATOPS
Their first single after moving to Victor, released in 2002.
Starting from a simple eight-beat and bass line, the track gradually expands and unfolds.
The instruments are blended with exquisite balance, letting you fully savor its alternative elements.
It’s a laid-back song, yet it makes you want to crank the volume and blast it.
TATOOTRICERATOPS
A song with a fresh angle that likens the pain of heartbreak to a tattoo—an indelible mark that remains.
These days, even “digital tattoos” are a buzzword, so the expression doesn’t feel out of place, but at the time, you could say he had the sense to stay one step ahead by weaving that word into the theme.
You can feel a powerful message in the mere two lines of lyrics after the second chorus.
Incidentally, it was the only release that came out as a CCCD, and back then there were many issues, such as degraded sound quality.
He apologized on his blog and promised not to release music on CCCD thereafter—an episode that evokes that era.
Eyes Are DiamondTRICERATOPS
The original song is by Seiko Matsuda.
In a complete departure from the very delicate original, it’s been transformed into a light, poppy band sound.
It’s filled with a refreshing sense of exhilaration that seems to clear away a troubled maiden’s heart, and it’s a superb arrangement that brings out another charm the song possesses.
Chewing GumTRICERATOPS
Despite its bright tone, the song carries a faint sense of loneliness.
The lyrics also have a cheerful vibe, yet they’re deeply poignant and gripping, evoking a sense of youth.
It features double-tracking, and after listening to other TRICERATOPS songs, I think this one will feel refreshingly new.
