RAG MusicBand
A wonderful Japanese music band

tricot’s classic and popular songs

Tricot is a rock band that skillfully handles odd time signatures, as symbolized by their catchphrase “non-dance-inducing.” Yet despite their complex song structures, their tracks are irresistibly grooveable—you can dance to them even though they’re “non-dance-inducing,” which is a big part of their appeal.

Their high level of musicianship and powerful live performances are also major draws, making their shows a must-see.

Tricot’s classic and popular songs (11–20)

gardentricot

tricot – Niwa Studio Live Session with 5 Drummers
gardentricot

This is a track included on the second album, AND.

It’s an upbeat number that makes you want to dance, with a catchy melody you’ll find yourself humming after just one listen.

It’s also a song that really fires up the crowd at live shows.

Artsicktricot

Tricot – Artsick // Live 2016 // A38 Rocks
Artsicktricot

This song is included on the 1st album “THE.” Its simple lyrics evoke an emotional mood.

With a structure that gradually seeps in as the song progresses, it leaves a very pleasant afterglow once you’ve listened.

hospitalitytricot

This is a track from the Bakyuun EP released in 2012.

It’s a song where you can fully enjoy tricot’s signature progressive structures, including 3/4 time and off-beat rhythms.

Despite that, it has a driving feel and never gets boring to listen to.

Tarattaratttatricot

tricot – Tarattarattta ~ Drum Cover – Robert Liao
Tarattaratttatricot

This is a track included on the 1st album, THE.

Just like the title “Tarattaratta,” the repeating riff sounds exactly like that and feels pleasantly catchy and cute.

The lyrics are very straightforward and heartbreaking.

As it goes into the latter half, it gives you a creeping sense of being cornered.

Flemingtricot

Included on the 2nd mini-album “Elementary Schoolers and the Universe.” The song is characterized by an overall relaxed, drawn-out vocal style and a floating, airy guitar sound.

It has a comfort that makes you feel like you could keep listening with your eyes closed.

The sudden surge in intensity in the latter half is very tricot-like.

A colorless aquariumtricot

tricot “Iro no nai Suisou” drum cover – Tried playing the drums
A colorless aquariumtricot

This is a track included on the second album, AND.

The slightly edgy lyrics—something that every girl has somewhere in her heart and can sort of relate to—have resonated with female listeners.

The guitar sound is cool, too.

Fly!tricot

tricot “Tobe” live at Pohoda Festival in Trenčín, Slovakia
Fly!tricot

This is a track included on the 1st album, THE.

The chorus in the hook is really cool.

From the part where they sing “Toberu, toberu, tobe yo, tobe yo” (“I can fly, I can fly, fly, fly”) to the very end, the way it gradually spreads out feels really cool.
