MermaidYuka

YU-KA – Mermaid (Official Music Video)
MermaidYuka

Singer-songwriter Yuka, who has gained popularity for her refined musical sensibilities inspired by Western music.

She has many catchy songs, but her artistry has really sharpened lately.

Her new track “Mermaid” is a piece I particularly recommend for women with lower voices.

Although it’s sung in mixed voice, it doesn’t require a belted mix, so even women with low voices may find it surprisingly singable.

The range is also narrow, so if mixed voice is challenging for you, try boldly lowering the key.

Drunkenness UnknownKanaria

"GUMI" Drunkenness Ignorant [Kanaria]
Drunkenness UnknownKanaria

An irresistibly catchy dance number produced by Kanaria, a massively popular Vocaloid producer.

Released in May 2022, the track is also known for taking the top spot on Billboard JAPAN’s UGC chart.

It’s included in games like “Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat.

Hatsune Miku,” so many teens may have discovered it while playing.

The worldbuilding, which blurs the line between reality and unreality, paired with its rhythmic beat, is truly addictive.

It might seem challenging at first glance, but the vocal range is relatively narrow and there are few demanding high notes, making it surprisingly easy to sing.

It’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser at karaoke, and even those with lower voice types can perform it stylishly.

shameless; indecentchanmina

CHANMINA – Shameless (Dance Performance Video) –
shameless; indecentchanmina

Currently drawing attention after being targeted with a diss by NENE, the female rapper Chanmina.

Her track “HARENCHI” is a masterpiece that showcases her wide musical range.

In this song, the lowest note is mid1 E, which is on the lower side for a female track, but the highest note is hi B, so the overall range is relatively narrow.

Therefore, as long as you adjust the key, most women should be able to sing it without issue.

The song carries a languid vibe throughout, making the vocal technique known as “fall” particularly important.

You’ll likely learn this technique faster by referencing Western music rather than J‑pop, so while working on this track, listen to Western R&B as well to build your repertoire of falls.

Kaiju no Hanabuta (Monster’s Flower Song)Vaundy

Vaundy’s hugely popular song “Kaijuu no Hanauta” is one my students—regardless of gender—have practiced many times in vocal lessons! It’s a bit high for male singers, but it seems quite comfortable for female singers.

It’s definitely a song worth knowing.

The overall range spans two octaves from D3 to D5, and the pitch climbs significantly toward the latter half.

There are plenty of falsetto parts throughout, so those who are good with falsetto should be able to sing it smoothly.

Just be careful not to forget to breathe, since there are almost no breaks.

The sustained long note in the last chorus feels great, and there are chorus sections as well, making it perfect for getting everyone hyped!

Bunny GirlAKASAKI

[AKASAKI] Bunny Girl (Lyric Video)
Bunny GirlAKASAKI

To aim for a perfect 100, women don’t necessarily have to sing songs by female artists.

That’s why I recommend Bunny Girl.

It’s the well-known classic by AKASAKI.

Although the song is noted for its light, breezy melody, it surprisingly has a very narrow vocal range—among the narrowest even in Japanese pop.

The vocal line is also gently contoured with little variation, so as long as you set the right key, it should be easy to shoot for 100.

Definitely consider adding it to your repertoire.

Shiin, a female singer-songwriter known for her distinctive musical style that mixes various genres with an R&B foundation, is captivating audiences.

Her new song “Uwasa no Ano Ko,” following the popularity of “Masho no Onna A,” features a slightly surreal melody.

Stylistically, it might feel somewhat close to Noshi.

While there aren’t many low-end phrases, the overall arrangement stays in the midrange, making the vocal line very easy to sing for women with lower voices.

First Love Killernozomi

Noashi (noa) – First Love Killer [Official Music Video]
First Love Killernozomi

Singer-songwriter Noashi, who has gained popularity with her offbeat melodies and lyrics that resonate strongly with women.

She’s known for her genreless musical style, releasing songs with a different vibe from her previous work each time.

Speaking of her signature tracks, wouldn’t it be “Hatsukoi Killer” (First Love Killer)? While the song carries a slightly retro, Showa-era feel, its fresh production keeps it from sounding outdated.

The vocals incorporate some rap, and because the range is very narrow, it’s exceptionally easy to sing.

It also goes over well at karaoke, so consider adding it to your repertoire.
