[2026] Amazing call-and-response and harmonies! A cool twin-vocal band
When it comes to bands, many people picture a single lead vocalist, but twin-vocal bands—where two singers alternate or sing together—are incredibly cool too!
Their stunning harmonies go far beyond simple backing vocals, and by making the most of each singer’s voice and character, the music gains much greater expressiveness and depth.
And if the delivery leans into a rap style, it can feel even faster and more energetic than having just one singer.
In this article, we’ll introduce twin-vocal bands with a wider range of expression.
If you find a band you like, be sure to check out their other songs as well.

HY, a band from Okinawa, is also a mixed-gender group, right? The main vocals are handled by keyboardist Izumi Nakasone and guitarist Hideyuki Shinzato.
Drummer Shun Naka sometimes takes on rap parts as well.
Nakasone’s flowing yet solid vocals are reassuring, and Shinzato’s fresh voice is emblematic of HY! Of course, their solo singing is wonderful, but their harmonies are also stunningly beautiful and cleansing—so please take your time and give them a careful listen.
Absolute Three Minutessoko ni naru

The musicianship is outstanding, and it feels great no matter whether you listen to the guitar, bass, or drums.
It’s a twin-vocal setup with Shigeatsu Suzuki on guitar and vocals and Misaki Fujiwara on bass and vocals.
Suzuki’s mysterious vibe and Fujiwara’s warm, embracing presence both match the songs perfectly.

A three-piece melodic punk band from Ehime.
Their appeal lies in the barrage of catchy, memorable melodic lines and striking twin vocals, with both male and female high tones.
At shows, they power through a succession of up-tempo songs, creating a stage that pulls the whole floor in—their ability to ignite circle pits makes for blistering, high-energy performances.
In November 2019, they made their long-awaited major-label debut with Sony Music, and they’re a rock band sure to energize live houses and outdoor festivals across every corner of Japan.
Dancing LightCody Rī (Ri)

Speaking of rock bands, you can’t leave out Cody・Lee (李).
They formed in 2018 and quickly began releasing music.
Their beautiful harmonies became a hot topic, leading to appearances at music events.
The band’s current lead vocalist is Hibiki Takahashi; previously, Sumire Fujita and Rino Ozaki also sang as vocalists but have since graduated.
It could be interesting to pay attention to how the harmonies differ with each of them, or how things compare to the current single-vocalist lineup.
GO!!!FLOW

The vocals for FLOW, known for signature songs like “GO!!!” and “COLORS,” are handled by two members: KEIGO and KOHSHI, who also plays guitar.
In songs with many rap parts, KOHSHI putting down his guitar to sing is particularly striking! Their twin-vocal harmonies are of course appealing, but the way they trade off rap lines is incredibly smooth and accounts for a large part of their charm!
CaliforniaHEY-SMITH

HEY-SMITH, a ska-punk band that incorporates brass instruments, is hugely popular not only at live houses across the country but also at music festivals nationwide.
The main vocals are handled by guitarist-vocalist Shuhei Igari and bassist-vocalist Yuji.
They perform a wide range of songs, from bright pop-punk tunes to heavier tracks featuring striking metallic guitar riffs, and they deliver solid vocals no matter what the song.
