[2026] Amazing call-and-response and harmonies! A cool twin-vocal band
When it comes to bands, many people picture a single lead vocalist, but twin-vocal bands—where two singers alternate or sing together—are incredibly cool too!
Their stunning harmonies go far beyond simple backing vocals, and by making the most of each singer’s voice and character, the music gains much greater expressiveness and depth.
And if the delivery leans into a rap style, it can feel even faster and more energetic than having just one singer.
In this article, we’ll introduce twin-vocal bands with a wider range of expression.
If you find a band you like, be sure to check out their other songs as well.

GO!!!FLOW

The vocals for FLOW, known for signature songs like “GO!!!” and “COLORS,” are handled by two members: KEIGO and KOHSHI, who also plays guitar.
In songs with many rap parts, KOHSHI putting down his guitar to sing is particularly striking! Their twin-vocal harmonies are of course appealing, but the way they trade off rap lines is incredibly smooth and accounts for a large part of their charm!
Dancing LightCody Rī (Ri)

Speaking of rock bands, you can’t leave out Cody・Lee (李).
They formed in 2018 and quickly began releasing music.
Their beautiful harmonies became a hot topic, leading to appearances at music events.
The band’s current lead vocalist is Hibiki Takahashi; previously, Sumire Fujita and Rino Ozaki also sang as vocalists but have since graduated.
It could be interesting to pay attention to how the harmonies differ with each of them, or how things compare to the current single-vocalist lineup.
Adahada AlienShinario Aato

Scenarioart is a band formed in 2009 by Kousuke Yashi and Takahisa Yamashita, who attended the same high school.
Takahisa Yamashita is also known as a support member for KANA-BOON.
Scenarioart made their major debut in 2014 and have continued to thrive, including handling theme songs for films.
Their appeal lies in harmonies between high-tone voices—their ultra-high notes overlap to create a unique, powerful sound.
Show me Ai completely naked.gohoubi

Gohoubi is active as a five-member co-ed group with “tofu-tier” sensitive hearts.
It’s a pop band formed around Kazuma Kodama, formerly of Goodbye holiday, and singer-songwriter Yurika Sugie.
Each member is well-versed in different genres—such as funk and city pop—and they combine their individual strengths to craft their songs.
Overall, they have many uplifting tracks, and their vocals leave a gentle impression.
EverythingCzecho No Republic

Czecho No Republic is a band led by bassist-vocalist Yushin Takei, who also has experience serving as a support bassist for The Mirraz.
Their songs have a stylish vibe, yet they also include tracks that everyone can enjoy together at festivals.
There aren’t many sections where all parts play at once, which makes each sound easy to pick out and gives the music a minimal feel—listening is a real joy! While there are tracks like “Everything” where everything does come in together, the way the synthesizers intertwine is superb, and with twin vocals layered on top, you’re wrapped in a mysterious sense of floating.

THAT’S THE WAY WE UNITEBACK DROP BOMB

Let me introduce BACK DROP BOMB, a band with an irresistibly groovy sound.
They’re a rock band that has been active since 1994, creating songs that blend elements from various genres such as hip-hop, reggae, and metal.
Overall, their music leans heavily toward hip-hop and rock, so if you like intense tracks, you’ll probably love them.
Their vocals are close to rap, which is part of the appeal—you can enjoy rapid-fire harmonies and mic relays that layer in with a slightly overlapping delivery.
HeroineFORGET ME A NOTS

They’re a three-piece melodic punk band based out of the Chiba LOOK live house in Chiba Prefecture, lighting up live venues across Japan.
While female-fronted punk bands have become more common since the 2010s, they ramped up their activity in 2005, making them something of a pioneering presence.
The band’s appeal lies in the dynamic interplay among its three vocalist-instrumentalists: bassist-vocalist Chie Takahashi, whose weapon is an aggressive sonic approach and a powerful high-tone voice; guitarist-vocalist Taichi Ishitsubo, whose mid-low range resonates with strength; and drummer-vocalist Takayuki Abe, known for his warm, gentle singing voice.
