GeeNEW!shōjo jidai

Released in South Korea in 2009, this smash hit topped KBS’s Music Bank for nine consecutive weeks.
Produced by E-Tribe, it’s known for its highly addictive melody, the titular catchphrase, colorful skinny pants, and the “crab dance.” In 2010, a Japanese version was released as their second single for their Japan debut, and more people in Japan started singing it.
Of course, I made sure to memorize just the choreography for the “G” part and nailed that bit! It has a cute vibe, so you’ll definitely want to imitate it.
When singing, it might be good to use a slightly breathy falsetto-like tone.
QueencardNEW!(G)I-DLE

This is the title track of the sixth mini album “I feel,” released in May 2023, a positive song themed around confidence and self-love.
It carries a message of loving yourself just as you are, regardless of appearance.
Inspired by member Yuqi’s personality, Soyeon wrote and composed the song, which is praised for its catchy, addictive chorus.
Listening to it, the vibe seems to shift dramatically at the chorus.
Since how much you can build excitement in the chorus is important, it might look cool to sing the opening with more accent than you’d expect.
LightsNEW!BTS

This is the title track of the group’s 10th Japanese single, “Lights/Boy With Luv,” released on July 3, 2019.
It’s a refreshing, Japan-exclusive original song that the members imbued with the message, “Even in the darkness, we can be each other’s light,” and it’s known as a warm ballad that sings of love and bonds with their fans.
The tempo isn’t too fast, but there are parts where keeping rhythm is very important; rather than focusing on the lyrics, catch the melody with a groove as if you’re rapping.
Try singing it when you feel like performing something gentle and heartfelt.

DOMINONEW!Billie

A group that debuted in November 2021, whose name embodies the idea of expressing the inner self that everyone has and can relate to—their own B-side.
Their concept is to beautifully and confidently express, through music and performance, the mysterious, hidden inner emotions and alternate side as a “B-side.” Their song “DOMINO” is the lead track from their first Japanese mini-album released in February 2024, an original Japanese song themed around the “butterfly effect,” where small actions trigger a chain reaction leading to major change, like dominoes.
The track is surprisingly understated, so I think the overall mood can be shaped by how resonant the high notes in the chorus are.
FEARLESSNEW!LE SSERAFIM

LE SSERAFIM’s debut release, “FEARLESS.” With a concept centered on the boldness of aiming for the best, the title track “FEARLESS” is an alternative pop song with a punk base.
It was later released as their first Japanese single on January 25, 2023.
I remember it constantly playing on USEN, and I often heard it in stores myself.
The song’s vocal range isn’t too high—if anything, it leans lower.
You can sing it calmly, but if you use your throat and sing as if you’re speaking, it can strain your voice and reduce resonance.
It’s better to lift your eyebrows and facial muscles and aim to resonate in the vocal folds and between the eyebrows as you sing.
DolphinNEW!OH MY GIRL

It’s a hidden gem included in the 7th mini album “NONSTOP.” Its refreshing sound and the “splash dance” went hugely viral on TikTok worldwide, making it a record-breaking long-running hit that stayed on Korea’s Melon chart for the longest time among girl groups.
The melody is very simple, easy to remember, and super catchy.
The song is also under three minutes, so it’s highly recommended when you want to learn a new track.
Plus, the vocal range isn’t too high, so you should be able to sing it calmly throughout.
Just be careful not to strain your throat.
Feel SpecialNEW!Twice

It’s an emotional, powerful message song filled with gratitude to fans and supporters and the idea that “being loved makes you special.” Written and composed by J.Y.
Park, it became a signature track that served as a turning point from their previously bright image to a more mature work expressing the members’ bonds and strength.
Indeed, when you listen to the song, it feels a bit cooler than their other tracks, giving a different vibe from before.
To sing it stylishly, instead of relying on a “smile,” focus on lifting your facial muscles firmly and keeping your pitch steady.
Be careful not to strain your throat.
