At least for now, try to rest easy without worrying about anything.

The line he said while serving hot pot, just before Tanjiro cut the boulder and headed to the Final Selection.

In fact, Urokodaki is a good cook, and it seems he often served various dishes like this while Tanjiro was training.

In that particular scene, however, he was encouraging Tanjiro to recover from the fatigue of his training and to build his strength for the Final Selection.

That’s because not only the Final Selection, but also what awaits beyond it is a far harsher ordeal than anything he has faced so far.

It’s a single line that conveys Urokodaki’s kindness.

I acknowledge you, Tanjiro Kamado.

I acknowledge you, Tanjiro Kamado.

Asked by Giyu to train Tanjiro, Urokodaki decided to test whether Tanjiro was truly worthy of pursuing the Demon Slayer Corps.

The first trial was to descend Mount Sagiri.

It sounded like a simple descent, but along the way there were various traps, the air was thin, and the mist was thick.

Even under such harsh conditions, Tanjiro somehow made it down the mountain.

As the battered Tanjiro returned, Urokodaki said this line to him.

It was the scene where Urokodaki acknowledged Tanjiro for the first time.

Despite facing eight demons, Tanjiro survived the Final Selection and became a Demon Slayer Corps member.

When he returned from Mount Fujikasane, the site of the Final Selection, to Mount Sagiri where Nezuko and Urokodaki were waiting, these were the words Urokodaki spoke to him.

As a trainer, Urokodaki had trained many children and sent them off to the Final Selection.

However, many of them lost their lives during the trial.

Because of that past, he was profoundly relieved that Tanjiro returned safely, and he embraced him as he praised his efforts.

You can really feel how worried Urokodaki was for Tanjiro and how overjoyed he was that Tanjiro was safe.

Don’t ask other people. Can’t you think for yourself?

Don't ask other people. Can't you think for yourself?

These are Urokodaki’s words when he appeared just as Tanjiro was fighting a demon for the first time and about to deliver the finishing blow.

At the time, Tanjiro didn’t yet know how to finish off a demon and was advancing on it with a dagger.

Seeing this, Urokodaki told him that wouldn’t be enough to kill it.

Panicking, Tanjiro asked how to land the finishing blow.

Urokodaki then delivered this line, pushing Tanjiro away.

Perhaps he wanted Tanjiro to develop the ability to think and act on his own, or he wanted to gauge Tanjiro’s potential.

His curt words might make him seem cold, but behind them lay concern for Tanjiro’s circumstances and a desire to protect what’s important to him.

All humans are your family. Protect humans.

While Tanjiro was training under Urokodaki, Nezuko fell asleep and wouldn’t wake up.

By the time Tanjiro returned from the Final Selection, she finally opened her eyes, but it turns out that while Nezuko was asleep, Urokodaki had placed a suggestion on her.

It’s the phrase we’re introducing here: humans are allies and demons are enemies—he instilled that in her.

Urokodaki said he wasn’t sure if the suggestion would work, but during Tanjiro’s first battle with a demon as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, Nezuko recalled those words, protected humans, and joined the fight against the demon.

These are lines Urokodaki says to Tanjiro early in the story.

Among Urokodaki’s quotes, this one is especially well-known and memorable.

After Tanjiro fights a demon for the first time, Urokodaki asks him what he would do if Nezuko were to eat a human.

Tanjiro can’t answer right away, and as Urokodaki slaps his cheek, he delivers this line.

He scolds Tanjiro for lacking the resolve needed to travel with Nezuko, who has become a demon.

Spurred by these words, Tanjiro makes up his mind, and his training under Urokodaki begins.

Tanjiro Kamado, Sakonji Urokodaki, and Giyu Tomioka will cut their bellies to offer their apology.

These are the words written in the letter read aloud by the Master during the Hashira meeting after the battle on Mount Natagumo.

The letter was written by Urokodaki to the Master to gain approval for Tanjiro to undertake missions while accompanying Nezuko.

In it, he stated that Nezuko has never eaten a human, and that if she ever does, both he and Giyu will take responsibility.

The resolve of Giyu, who discovered Tanjiro, and Urokodaki, his trainer, is truly moving.
