This group rose to popularity from the 1960s through the early 1970s with a sound centered on beautiful harmonies and the chime of a 12-string guitar, focusing primarily on folk rock.

Their debut single in 1965, a cover of Bob Dylan’s “Mr.

Tambourine Man,” reached number one not only in the U.S.

but also in the U.K., instantly making the Byrds a widely recognized name on the scene.

However, they didn’t stop at the idea of fusing folk music with rock; they continued to take bold musical risks by incorporating elements of jazz and moving toward psychedelic rock.

Although the band disbanded in 1973, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991.

They can rightly be considered one of the indispensable bands in the history of rock.

Spanning sounds from hard rock to glam rock, Alice Cooper left a major mark on the music scene as a pioneer who brought a horror sensibility into rock ’n’ roll.

Let me share the appeal of Cake, a rock band from Sacramento, California.

Formed in 1991, they’re known for a unique sound that fuses rock with funk, folk, hip-hop, and other genres.

They debuted independently in 1994, and the following year saw a hit with “Rock ‘n’ Roll Lifestyle.” “The Distance,” from their 1996 album Fashion Nugget, became the band’s biggest hit.

John McCrea’s distinctive vocals and sardonic lyrics are especially captivating.

They’re highly recommended if you want to feel an all-American spirit or enjoy music with a sense of humor.
