Let’s take a quick look at what’s hot! Popular American Bands (31–40)
The Left Is RightDesaparecidos

Desaparecidos, formed in 2001 in Omaha, Nebraska, blend emo, post-hardcore, and indie rock, with lyrics known for their sociopolitical messages.
They released their debut album, Read Music/Speak Spanish, in 2002, and after a hiatus returned in 2015 with Payola, their first album in 13 years.
Their sound—described by Alternative Press as “full-throttle emo in a garage”—also reflects the influence of Midwestern punk.
Emphasizing live performances, they’ve built a passionate fanbase with songs that deliver sharp critiques of American society.
Highly recommended for fans of socially conscious rock.
HeartbreakerGrand Funk Railroad

Grand Funk Railroad, the band that took the American hard rock scene by storm.
Formed in 1969 in Flint, Michigan, the power trio captivated countless fans with their energetic performances and catchy melodies.
Their debut album, On Time, was a massive hit, selling over a million copies.
In 1971, they achieved a ticket sales record rivaling that of the Beatles.
They scored 19 charting singles, eight Top 40 hits, and earned 13 gold and 10 platinum records.
Their sound overflows with American spirit, delivering tracks that are irresistible to hard rock fans.
Do You Believe In LoveHuey Lewis & The News

Included on the 1982 album “Picture This.” A six-piece band from San Francisco formed in 1979.
The poppy, catchy melody lines and Huey Lewis’s husky vocals create a distinctly American rock vibe that really lifts your spirits when you listen.
Makes No Sense At AllHüsker Dü

Formed in Minnesota, USA, in 1979, they are a legendary rock trio.
In their early days they blasted fierce hardcore punk, but gradually evolved their sound and came to be regarded as one of the most important bands in the American indie scene of the 1980s.
Their natural, rough—one could even say not-so-cool—appearance and overall style shook the scene and exerted a huge influence on genres like alternative rock and post-hardcore from the 1990s onward.
After their breakup in 1987, guitarist and vocalist Bob Mould formed Sugar, which moved closer to alternative rock; both of the albums they released received high acclaim.
ChinatownJets to Brazil

Jets to Brazil, embodying a fusion of indie rock and emo, formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 1997.
Their 1998 debut album, Orange Rhyming Dictionary, earned high critical acclaim and commercial success.
Their music is defined by the intellectual lyrics and powerful compositions of Blake Schwarzenbach, often hailed as a poet of pop punk.
They demonstrated musical maturation with Four Cornered Night in 2000 and Perfecting Loneliness in 2002.
Their songs, marked by deep emotional expression and intricate melodies, evoke an American spirit while delicately portraying the subtleties of the heart, making them perfect for introspective moods.
