Band-sound Vocaloid Song Special [Rock]

We call making music on a computer “DTM,” but that doesn’t only refer to electronic music with programmed synths.

You can use various sound sources or record live instruments, and before you know it, you can complete a full band sound right inside your computer.

So in this article, I’d like to introduce Vocaloid songs that focus on band-style sound!

They’re all wonderful tracks!

I’m sure you’ll find a new favorite.

Band-sound Vocaloid Song Showcase [Rock] (101–110)

World on ColorDenporu P

A song from a dream-chasing “me” to “you” that makes you want to break into a run.

The melody swells gradually toward the chorus, filling you with an indescribable sense of excitement.

The high-pitched synthesizer phrase used in the intro and chorus really sticks in your ears.

Lies and a Time MachineAhiru Gunsou P

Kagamine Rin/Len - Lies and a Time Machine [Original] Subtitled in Chinese
Lies and a Time MachineAhiru Gunsou P

A medium-tempo pop-rock song that gently sings about hearts missing each other.

It’s a gentle track.

Rin does the main vocals, but just before the final chorus, Len adds an emotionally rich harmony.

Len’s vocal timbre fits the song’s mood so well that you can’t help but think, “He totally steals the spotlight there.”

I’ll come to see you again this summer.Yatsukawa no Name

This year as well, I’ll go see you in the summer / Hatsune Miku
I'll come to see you again this summer.Yatsukawa no Name

It’s a nostalgic and refreshing guitar rock track by Naname from Hachikawa.

Released in June 2018, it was later included as the final track on the album “Summer, Me, and Rock ’n’ Roll.” Set against Kyoto’s summer scenery—such as the Kamo River and Shimogamo Shrine—the song reflects on the passage of time and feelings that never change.

Miku’s vibrant vocals pair perfectly with the arrangement’s subtly retro vibe.

If you’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of summer, be sure to give it a listen.

Dust trailNoz.

Noz. – “Dust Trail” / Kagamine Rin
Dust trailNoz.

If you like fast-paced, exhilarating rock, give this a listen! It’s a track by Vocaloid producer Noz., known for works like “Hedgehog” and “Seimeigaku,” released in March 2023.

It participated in the 2023 Spring VocaColle TOP 100 ranking.

The guitar riffs are cool from start to finish, and the band sound—imbued with a touch of grit—really amps you up.

It aligns perfectly with the bittersweet, melancholic world of the lyrics.

And the sing-along that kicks in after the second chorus will make you want to join in!

siGresuzuki P

siGresuzuki P

A Japanese-style VOCAROCK track.

The lyrics quote a poem by the poet Haruo Satō.

The distorted guitar tones and fast picking are cool, and the water sounds used throughout create a great atmosphere.

When the original video entered the Hall of Fame, a PV that went all-in on jokes was uploaded to celebrate.

If you like band sounds and upbeat dance rock, be sure to check this out! This Vocaloid track by beco—who has also released many instrumental numbers under the name “Noiseless World”—was published in March 2023 and was an entry for VocaColle Spring 2023.

The riffs and phrases are fantastic; if you can play guitar, you’ll probably want to try them yourself.

The humorous, cat-themed lyrics are another highlight of its worldbuilding.

If you’re looking for a song to cover with your band, why not give it a shot?

GUMI original song “Hysteri” with Chinese subtitles
hysteriaKuwagata P

These lyrics portray days when you get hurt by the smallest things, give up, and become reckless, but when you listen to it while feeling down, it’s a song that makes you feel like you can keep trying just a little longer.

The slightly wistful guitar tone in the interlude, almost like a scream, is especially striking.
