Who am I? A quiz where you figure out the answer from the given hints.
I’m going to introduce a “Who am I?” quiz where you infer the answer from three given hints.
You can enjoy it in different ways: narrowing down the answer step by step as you go through the hints in order, or picturing an answer from each hint and finding something that fits them all.
The hints don’t just cover appearance and functional features; they also include the answer’s history, so a broad range of knowledge is put to the test.
The fact that even inanimate objects are introduced as “I” also makes the correct answer harder to find—and that’s part of what makes it exciting.

Who am I? A quiz where you figure out the answer from the given clues (11–20)
I was originally created as a byproduct of making miso.
- I was originally born as a byproduct of making miso.
- It used to be familiar only to Japanese people, but now it’s used all around the world.
- Among the seasonings known as 'sa-shi-su-se-so,' this corresponds to 'se.'
See the answer
soy sauce
The phrase “originally born as a byproduct of making miso” refers to soy sauce arising from the miso production process during fermentation. The part saying “beloved by the Japanese and now used around the world” indicates that, while soy sauce is a traditional Japanese seasoning, it is now widely used in many countries. Lastly, the seasonings known as ‘sa-shi-su-se-so’ refer in order to sugar, salt, vinegar, soy sauce, and miso; given the hint ‘se,’ the answer is considered to be ‘soy sauce.’
I am said to be the most abundant thing on Earth, but it’s also said that I will never increase any further.
- I am said to exist more than anything else on Earth, but it’s also said that I will not increase any further.
- Most of the human body is made of me.
- A colorless, transparent drink that humans absolutely need.

water
“The fact that it ‘exists the most on Earth’ refers to water covering about 71% of the Earth’s surface. Next, the hint about ‘the majority of the human body’ explains that roughly 60% of the human body is made up of water. And ‘a colorless, transparent drink absolutely necessary for humans’ describes the essential nature of water for human life. From these hints, it’s clear that the answer is water.”
In conclusion
I introduced some Who am I? quiz questions.
Some of the hints include historical background related to the answer, so the quiz can also deepen your understanding of the subject.
Instead of revealing all the hints at once, being deliberate about the order you show them is a key way to adjust the difficulty.
You can enjoy the feeling of a vague idea from a broad hint becoming clear with the next hint.
If a few hints aren’t enough, you can ramp things up by adding more hints, which should make it even more engaging.
