Have you heard of the young hero of the UK rock scene who hails from North Shields, England? Sam Fender, who carries on the spirit of heartland rock, is a singer-songwriter who sets powerful melodies to socially conscious messages.

His debut album, Hypersonic Missiles, released in 2019, topped the UK charts, and his 2021 masterpiece, Seventeen Going Under, also reached number one.

At the 2022 Brit Awards, he won Best Rock/Alternative Act.

In February 2025, his third album, People Watching, was released, resounding with a muscular sound reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen.

If you’re craving passionate rock, give it a listen!

PRESIDENT – In the Name of the Father

President, who belongs to the same management as Sleep Token, burst onto the scene like a comet.

All members wear masks, and this up-and-coming band is shrouded in mystery.

Their music is built on a foundation of metalcore and hard rock, delivering a heavy, signature sound that some have dubbed “Octanecore.” Their debut single, released in May 2025, pairs radio-friendly catchiness with aggressive riffs and powerful vocals for an impressive result.

There are even rumors within the industry that they’re a “supergroup,” and their strategic moves—such as announcing an “inauguration ceremony” at a major festival in June 2025—make them hard to ignore.

If you want melody-forward music without compromising on heaviness, this band is perfect for you!

Half•Alive is a trio formed in Long Beach, California, that traverses a wide range of genres including indie pop and alternative rock.

After fully kicking off in 2017, they quickly drew attention with releases like their 2019 album “Now, Not Yet.” They’ve got plenty of credentials—being selected for YouTube’s “Artist on the Rise,” for example—and their collaboration with choreographers to create visual expressions is a major strength.

The anecdote that they converted a helicopter hangar in the Mojave Desert to record the EP “3” back in 2017 also speaks to their originality.

Many of the members studied jazz, so their performance skills are high, and I can confidently recommend them to anyone who wants to enjoy music with both their ears and eyes.

Active Rock chart.

Blending a hefty, Linkin Park–inspired sound with a pop sensibility, their music is a must-hear for listeners seeking the next generation of rock.

BishopTrauma Ray

Hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, they’re a standout rock band that wields both roaring volume and gorgeous melody.

Formed in 2018, Trauma Ray drew attention with a style that fuses the airy drift of shoegaze with the heft of ’90s grunge.

Their 2024 album, Chameleon, has been highly acclaimed as a release on the prestigious Dais Records.

Their most distinctive trait is a three-guitar lineup—the so-called “three-guitar attack”—layered for maximum impact, delivering a live-reproducible wall of sound that’s become the stuff of legend.

Vocalist Yuriel Avila’s lyrics, which reflect his own religious background, lend a unique light and shade to the songs.

A highly recommended band for fans of Slowdive-like beautiful noise and heavy alternative rock.
