Town Called MaliceThe Jam

The Jam, a rock band that Britain is proud of, formed in 1972 and emerged during the height of punk rock.

Their debut single, “In the City,” was released in 1977 and reached the UK Top 40.

They went on to notch 18 consecutive Top 40 hits, with four songs reaching number one.

Influenced by early-1960s mod bands, their sound grew increasingly pop-oriented.

Until they announced their breakup in December 1982, they continued to lead the UK music scene.

The album “The Gift,” released just before their split, reached No.

1 on the UK chart.

Packed with a distinctly British spirit, their music continues to be loved by many fans today.

In 1986, Aretha Franklin’s cover version—separate from the original—was included on the soundtrack to a film of the same name, and it was a superb rendition that rivaled the original.
