PointlessLewis Capaldi

When you’re feeling a sense of loss, I especially recommend listening to “Pointless.” It’s a song by Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi that portrays the grief of a man whose partner—someone he spent every day with—suddenly disappears from his life.
The song is dramatic, with depictions that convey the deep bond between the two.
The partner in the song could easily be interpreted as a “parent,” “child,” “pet,” or other loved one, making it broadly relatable.
Creepin’Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, 21 Savage

Rapper 21 Savage.
The track he worked on together with The Weeknd and Metro Boomin is “Creepin.” Its lyrics portray the emotions of a man who has discovered his girlfriend’s infidelity.
You could interpret The Weeknd’s gentle vocals as expressing sorrow, while the two rappers’ intense verses convey anger.
The lyrics also include vivid details—like peeking at a cell phone—that bring an even more realistic scene to life.
Lift Me Up (From Black Panther: Wakanda Forever)Rihanna

A song I want to recommend as one that stays close to you in tough times is “Lift Me Up.” It’s a track Rihanna wrote for the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
It reflects on the passing of Chadwick Boseman, the star of the previous film, and the sorrowful story within the movie, while also conveying a message of overcoming those hardships.
Combined with the powerful vocal delivery unique to a ballad, it’s sure to stir your heart.
When You’re Sad I’m SadCharlie Puth

Charlie Puth made major waves in 2022 by collaborating with BTS’s Jungkook on “Left and Right.” His song “When You’re Sad I’m Sad” is a ballad with a chorus line—“When you’re sad, I’m sad too, so I’ll bring you back”—that really hits home.
His clear, pure vocals pair perfectly with the song’s straightforward message, and listening to it feels almost cleansing.
Let Me GoDaniel Caesar

A breakup is hard not only for the one who gets dumped, but also for the one who ends it.
With that in mind, I’d like to introduce “Let Me Go.” It’s a song by Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar.
It captures the feelings of a woman who tells a sleeping man she’s leaving and prepares to walk out of the house.
In the latter half, the lyrics drop out and only the chorus remains, which stirs the imagination all the more.
I hope it prompts you to let your own thoughts wander, too.
