A collection of Western songs with titles starting with “E”

In this article, I’ll be introducing a whole bunch of Western songs whose titles start with the letter “E”! You might not usually listen to songs that all start with the same initial, but that’s exactly why trying it can lead you to discover tracks you didn’t know and make new discoveries.

By the way, when it comes to English words that start with “E,” there are plenty that seem perfect for song titles, like “Every—,” “Easy,” and “Each.” If you’re a fan of Western music, you may already have a few songs in mind.

With that, let’s dive in and enjoy the article—who knows, you might discover some new favorites along the way.

Collection of Western Songs with Titles Starting with 'E' (231–240)

Eyes On MeFaye Wong

Final Fantasy VIII – Eyes On Me
Eyes On MeFaye Wong

Released in February 1999, this is Faye Wong’s third single, and it is also included on her second original album released the same year, “Zhang You ~Uta Asobi~.” The song portrays a man who is drawn to a singer and her voice, and who keeps going to the bar where she performs, depicting how the two gradually become attracted to each other.

In Japan, it is well known as the theme song for the game Final Fantasy VIII.

Endless SummerFennesz

The very title “Endless Summer” itself evokes a certain nostalgic atmosphere.

This is the title track from the masterpiece album Endless Summer, released in 2001 by Austrian guitarist and composer Christian Fennesz—known under the name “Fennesz” and noted for collaborations with Japanese artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Glitch noise scattered throughout and acoustic sounds from live instruments fuse with astonishing beauty, creating a piece that seems to transport the listener to another world.

It’s a stunning classic.

It also stands as a pioneering work and track in the folktronica that spread after the 2000s, and there’s no doubt it’s one of the important songs in the history of electronica.

At the same time, we should note that it was released by Mego, Austria’s prestigious label known for putting out many works by experimental artists.

It’s essential not to overlook its avant-garde character that sets it apart from mere mood-driven electronica, as well as its innovations as noise music.

Its nostalgic lyricism is never saccharine; rather, it carries a certain dryness—and that, too, is wonderful.

First Aid Kit is a Swedish female duo with a refreshing sound reminiscent of British folk.

The group is composed of sisters Johanna Söderberg (older) and Klara Söderberg (younger).

Their song Emmylou, released in 2012, features a country-influenced melody.

It blends nostalgia with a fresh feel, making it a great recommendation for newcomers to Western music.

Why not let their beautiful, supple harmonies soothe you?

EverywhereFleetwood Mac

It’s a straightforward, simple love song written by Christine McVie.

It was released as a single in 1987.

The music video is distinctive, inspired by the poem “The Highwayman,” and depicts the story of a traveler who falls in love with a landlord’s daughter.

The protagonist seems like a stalker, as if he’s aggressively courting her by saying “make me your boyfriend right away,” but in the video he deliberately signals his ambush and ultimately sacrifices his life for the one he loves.

EastsideFour80East

While rooted in jazz, their ensemble sprinkles in hip-hop and funk, blending live instruments with electronic sounds to create an exquisitely smooth and cool vibe—still undeniably stylish even beyond the 2020s! Let me introduce Four80East’s debut album, “The Album,” released in 1997 by the electro-jazz unit from Toronto, Canada.

Although the acid jazz boom had already cooled by 1997, their music—unbound by conventional jazz notions—can truly be said to carry the spirit of acid jazz.

It exudes a cutting-edge sensibility that sets it apart from merely vibe-heavy “stylish” music, which is likely why they remain active today in the 2020s.

If you like fusion jazz or smooth jazz, you’ll definitely love this record—and it’s also highly recommended for anyone seeking chic, cool instrumental music!

Singer-songwriter GAYLE, who began gaining support from young people around the world after a hit on TikTok, has become widely recognized.

If you use TikTok in Japan, you’ve probably heard one of her songs at least once.

Among her tracks, the one I especially recommend is “everybody hates me.” Released in March 2023, it’s a powerful power-pop song infused with the punk elements she excels at.
