When it comes to songs with titles that start with “N,” do any come to mind?
We don’t usually pay much attention to the first letter of a song title, so you might not think of one right away.
That said, there are plenty of English words that start with “N,” like “New,” “No,” “Night,” and “Need,” all of which sound like they’d make great song titles.
In this article, I’ll introduce lots of songs with titles that start with “N,” regardless of era or genre.
By exploring music from a perspective you haven’t tried before, you might discover some new favorites.

New MorningAlpha Rev

If you want to start your day feeling refreshed, the perfect song is “New Morning.” It was released in 2010 by Alpha Revision, an American rock band active since the 2000s.
The track features a crisp band sound that evokes images of “morning” and “sun.” Casey McPherson’s warm vocals will help you greet the day with clarity.
It’s a passionate song with dynamic development.
Give this morning anthem a listen—you’ll feel the promise of something new beginning.
name everywhereAmelia Moore

Amelia Moore, a next-generation artist who keeps releasing hit songs one after another.
The piece she performed during her North American tour—and that had already been buzzing by word of mouth—is “name everywhere.” It’s a song about the sorrow of losing a loved one.
However, rather than a ballad, it carries a dreamlike, almost operatic atmosphere.
The intermittent electronic tones and her ultra-high vocal range elevate it into a new musical genre unlike anything before.
Nothing’s FreeAngel Olsen

Angel Olsen is an American singer-songwriter whose wide-ranging musicality has earned her broad popularity.
While she mainly excels in indie rock and folk, she has recently been actively incorporating other genres as well.
Nothing’s Free is a new song she released in March 2023.
It’s a track rich with slow-jazz elements that shifts into a soulful melody in the latter half.
If you’re looking for a highly sophisticated song, this one will hit the mark perfectly.
Nasty Girl (feat. Ingratax)Angela Torres, Yami Safdie, LUANA

Argentina’s popular singer and actress Angela Torres released a danceable, catchy track titled “Nasty Girl” in June 2023, featuring other female singers from Argentina.
The lyrics aren’t in English, of course, but the catchy melody and the distinctive voices that showcase each singer’s individuality make it enjoyable even for listeners of Western pop who aren’t used to non-English music.
With some quite provocative lyrics, it’s also a recommended song for anyone looking for a strong dose of girl power!

No Time To LoseAngerfist

The 2023 track “No Time To Lose” by Angerfist—an iconic Dutch hardcore techno maestro known for his signature ice hockey mask and black or white hoodie—is a must-listen for fans of hard techno and bass-heavy EDM.
Though it runs only about two minutes, its dynamic ebb and flow is masterfully executed, instantly conjuring images of a wildly energized club crowd.
Enjoy the thunderous low-end of the electronic soundscape, as powerful as any rock band!
NautilusAnna Meredith

The iPhone 15 Pro commercial “Power of Pro,” which has been drawing attention for its impactful visuals, portrays a man so absorbed in a game that he forgets reality, rendered through surreal imagery.
Playing in the background is “Nautilus,” an instrumental piece by Scottish composer Anna Meredith, notable for its anxiety-inducing sound and the sampled noise of something being struck.
New Year’s Honoursanother sunnyday

For those who want to deliberately pick a different kind of Western song for the New Year, I recommend this fairly niche track.
Among listeners in Japan who are deeply into what’s called neo-acoustic or guitar pop, Another Sunny Day has a legendary status and is held in very high regard.
They were a band on the popular neo-acoustic label SARAH, and in typical fashion, they broke up without ever releasing an original full-length album.
The song I’m introducing here, “New Year’s Honours,” has the feel of classic neo-acoustic: delicate acoustic guitar arpeggios, a vulnerable vocal, and assured songwriting all coming together.
It’s included on their only compilation, the 1992 release London Weekend.
Strictly speaking, the title refers to the British honours system, where the New Year Honours list—such as recipients of the Order of the British Empire—is announced at the end of each year.
That said, the song itself doesn’t actually touch on that; instead, it poetically depicts the tender, fragile emotions of a protagonist who has lost someone precious.
I hope you enjoy that contrast as part of its appeal.
