A compilation of Western songs with titles starting with 'N'

When it comes to songs with titles that start with “N,” do any come to mind?

We don’t usually pay much attention to the first letter of a song title, so you might not think of one right away.

That said, there are plenty of English words that start with “N,” like “New,” “No,” “Night,” and “Need,” all of which sound like they’d make great song titles.

In this article, I’ll introduce lots of songs with titles that start with “N,” regardless of era or genre.

By exploring music from a perspective you haven’t tried before, you might discover some new favorites.

November AirZach Bryan

If you want to spend some time alone at dusk, I recommend “Zach Bryan – November Air.” It’s a track included on singer-songwriter Zach Bryan’s album All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster (Live from Red Rocks).

With a country music vibe, it portrays a contemplative cowboy.

The Western elements are both poignant and cool, and listening to it really brings vivid scenes to mind.

No Wayian

No Wayian

The Dallas-born rapper Ian’s track, released in December 2024, is a song that highlights his personal growth and forward-looking mindset.

Compared to his previous work, it features a more polished sound and carries a message about overcoming negative emotions and fostering self-improvement.

Ian announced the second leg of his U.S.

tour in 2024, and this release further accelerates his momentum.

The lyrics are striking in how they urge listeners to recognize their own worth and keep moving forward without being swayed by others’ opinions.

It’s a track with strong trap elements, distinctly influenced by Atlanta’s new generation of rappers.

November Prayerkitchen

A perfect song for the autumn atmosphere, steeped in deep sentiment and loneliness.

James Keegan of kitchen spins a delicate vocal performance, and the gentle tone of the acoustic guitar sinks into the heart.

Included on the album “town,” released in January 2017, this track uses images of cold and snow to depict unrequited love and solitude.

Its lo-fi sound quality and minimal arrangement further enhance the lyrical world.

Recommended for those who want to sink into an introspective mood and quietly listen during an autumn dusk.

The young American rapper Midwest released a new song in October 2024—an emotional track that expresses a strong will for independence and success.

It features a dark melody and a simple yet impactful beat, with his signature smooth vocal style deeply resonating with listeners.

The lyrics convey his determination to achieve success “without help,” reflecting his focus on long-term success in the music industry.

The track continues the experimental hyperpop style he showcased in past projects, giving it a distinct identity in the modern hip-hop scene.

It’s a recommended listen for anyone who relates to the pressures and criticism faced by today’s younger generation.

Nine Feet UndergroundCaravan

Caravan, like Soft Machine, originated from the Wilde Flowers and is known as a foundational presence in Canterbury rock.

Though their activity has been intermittent, they’ve continued over many years, and it’s still fresh in our memory that they came to Japan in 2019 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their debut.

While Caravan’s sound is grounded in a crossover blend of jazz and rock, it’s distinct from bands that showcase breakneck technique and thrilling ensemble playing; instead, their hallmark is a richly lyrical sound that foregrounds beautiful melodies.

“Nine Feet Underground,” included on their celebrated third album In the Land of Grey and Pink released in 1971, is a suite-like masterpiece that epitomizes Caravan’s unique sonic world.

It’s a major work exceeding 22 minutes, comprising multiple sections, and on the original LP it occupies the entire B-side.

The gentle, unfolding development centered on Dave Sinclair’s organ and keyboards—together with Richard Sinclair’s soft vocals—conveys a different kind of appeal from bands that emphasize virtuosity and improvisation.

The album itself is often hailed as their magnum opus and is a highly recommended entry point for those new to Caravan.

This work captivates with its powerful rhythm and dynamic choreography.

While depicting traditional Indian festivals and regional dances, it enchants audiences around the world with a contemporary twist.

Featured on the soundtrack of the 2022 film RRR, it drew major attention and achieved the remarkable feat of winning Best Original Song at both the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes in 2023.

The piece shines with M.

M.

Keeravaani’s brilliant composition and the electrifying performances by NTR and Ram Charan.

It’s the perfect song to fire up a cultural festival or school event—dance together and you’re sure to make wonderful memories!

NANAÊSol Lima

Sol Lima is a female R&B singer active in Brazil.

While Brazilian R&B—perhaps reflecting its South American roots—tends to favor lighter tracks, Sol Lima releases songs that lean closer to US R&B, with a deep, slow-jam vibe.

Among her works, the one I especially recommend is NANAÊ.

It’s a slow yet danceable gem that feels relaxed while weaving in touches of Latin music throughout.
