[Summer] Tanabata Craft

Let’s make use of footprints for the Tanabata craft as well.
This time we’ll use handprints too.
Since it can be difficult to take multiple handprints and footprints from infants, try to do them all at once.
First, have the children scribble on navy construction paper with a white crayon.
Next, paste on a strip of paper to represent the bamboo stem, and attach the handprints as bamboo leaves so they hang down.
Use the footprints for Orihime and Hikoboshi’s bodies.
Arrange and paste them in suitable positions, then attach the prepared faces of Orihime and Hikoboshi.
Finally, add the child’s name, and it’s complete!
The Very Hungry Caterpillar

It’s a lovely idea to represent the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar with footprint art from 0-year-olds.
You can capture the wonder of an insect’s transformation using your child’s tiny footprints.
It also sounds fun to show the caterpillar nibbling through colorful foods with footprints.
As teachers and children choose different materials together, they can share the joy of bringing the story to life.
The finished pieces will surely make wonderful gifts for parents and guardians.
Through footprint art, you’ll likely deepen your moments of connection with your child.
[Winter] Snowman
https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl3aM3GJK2s/For a winter craft, how about making a footprint snowman? First, stamp a white footprint on a backing sheet and cut it out along the outline.
Put a Santa hat made from construction paper on the heel area, and attach mittened hands.
Finally, draw the snowman’s face and you’re done! You can use it as a wall decoration as is, or stick it under a Christmas tree with wishes written on it to make a winter garland.
It also works great as an ornament.
Let the children take charge of sticking stickers on the snowman’s body!
Dolphins [Summer]

How about making a refreshing “dolphin” craft for summer? First, take a footprint in a pale light blue.
Next, dab some paint on your fingertips and add the dolphin’s mouth, dorsal fin, and tail fin.
Then use a pen to draw the eyes and mouth to give it expression.
Finally, paint the belly white with correction pen, and decorate over it with masking tape to finish! You can also add seaweed and other sea creatures around it to make it feel like the ocean.
A cute little footprint will transform into a lively, swimming dolphin.
[Spring] Rabbit

The cute and warm “rabbit” motif is perfect for footprint art with 0-year-old children.
First, make a footprint in a soft pink color, then the teacher can use finger stamps to create the rabbit’s ears and tail.
Next, place two small triangles cut from masking tape side by side to represent a bow tie.
By choosing different colors and patterns of masking tape, you can showcase each child’s individuality.
Finally, draw the facial expression and hands with a pen to finish! Adding decorations around it will make it even cuter.
How about trying this for a spring footprint craft?
[Spring] Koinobori (carp streamers)

For a May craft project, let’s use the footprints of 0-year-olds to make “koinobori” carp streamers.
Since the footprint will be placed on a prominent part of the koinobori’s body, choosing lively colors like yellow, red, or green will give it a nice feel.
Fold construction paper to form the koinobori, then attach colorful scales and eyes.
Adjust the size and colors of each part as you like.
To make a windsock, wrap a small piece cut from a toilet paper roll with white construction paper and attach a long, narrow strip of paper.
Once the koinobori motif is complete, place the footprint in the center of the body.
[Autumn] Pumpkin

Perfect for Halloween crafts! Here’s a pumpkin-making idea using footprints.
You’ll use four footprints for this craft.
After gluing four footprints side by side onto a backing sheet, tear some green construction paper to make the stem.
Then attach facial features made from black construction paper, cut the backing sheet into a pumpkin shape, and you’re done.
If you put double-sided tape on the back of the face parts to turn them into stickers, the kids can help too.
It’s fun whether you use four of the same footprint or mix four different ones.
