Don’t give upZARD

A signature song by ZARD that everyone has heard at least once.

It’s the group’s best-selling single and can be considered the track that put them on the map.

Originally used as the theme song for the TV drama “Shiratori Reiko de Gozaimasu!”, it has also become a tradition on the program “24-Hour Television” for the cast to sing it together just before the charity marathon reaches the finish line.

Released in 1987, this is a signature song by singer-songwriter Takako Okamura.

Although it was originally themed around heartbreak, it has become a classic anthem that everyone knows, and as of 2020 it continues to be loved and sung by many people.

It also drew attention on the TV program “24-Hour Television” when Nogizaka46 covered it.

The signature song of Daiji MAN Brothers Band, whose chorus begins with “Don’t lose” and leaves a powerful impression.

Some of you may remember that vocalist Toshiyuki Tachikawa appeared on the 2005 broadcast of 24-Hour TV and performed this song.

Although the band is sometimes labeled a one-hit wonder because of this track, it remains a timeless classic that has been covered by many artists.

homeKiyama Yusaku

Yusaku Kiyama overcame a serious illness and achieved his long-held dream of debuting as a singer.

His signature song “home” carries a unique persuasiveness precisely because he is a father of three.

Sung with his beautiful voice, this moving piece is a gentle anthem of support that celebrates the warmth of family.

It was performed as a gift to the runners who completed their journey on The Legal Counseling Office with Long Lines, which aired right after the 2019 24-Hour TV special.

When it comes to the duo of Shinji Tanimura and Yuzo Kayama, most people think of Sarai, but does anyone remember this song that was used as the new theme for the 24-Hour Television broadcast in 2007? Since it wasn’t used from 2008 onward, it occupies a somewhat modest place in their catalog.

Incidentally, Tackey & Tsubasa, who served as the main hosts of the 2007 24-Hour Television broadcast, also took part in the recorded version.

This is the theme song for the second 24-Hour TV broadcast in 1979.

It was included as the B-side to Godiego’s single “Haruka na Tabi e” (“To a Distant Journey”).

With lyrics entirely in English, it’s a beautiful ballad featuring Yukihide Takakawa’s gentle vocals and Mickey Yoshino’s piano tones.

It’s a masterpiece that I hope even those who only associate Godiego with “Gandhara” will listen to.
