Debut song by a 90s Western girls' band
The early recordings of a band are always so energetic and captivating, aren’t they? Especially when it comes to their debut single…
The technique and polish may feel a bit raw at times, but the intensity is on a whole different level.
As their career goes on, their musical style evolves, too.
That’s exactly the charm of it.
This time, I researched debut singles by ’90s Western girl bands.

Debut songs by 90s Western all-female bands (31–40)
Good LifeThe Braxtons

The Braxtons debuted with the unusual lineup of five sisters.
Perhaps due to their low-key activities, they went on hiatus, and their singles didn’t sell at all.
However, one member, Toni Braxton, later scored a string of major hits.
It became a rare case of a big star emerging from an unsuccessful group.
Somethin’ to Ride ToThe Conscious Daughters

Female rappers rarely find major success, and the duo The Conscious Daughters were no exception when it came to hit songs.
After debuting in 1993 with “Somethin’ to Ride To,” they released only four singles.
In 2011, one of the members passed away, and the group ceased activity.
I Wanna Love YouJade

Jade is an R&B vocal trio that debuted in 1992.
Their debut single, “I Wanna Love You,” performed reasonably well, reaching No.
16 on the Billboard charts, but their next single, “Don’t Walk Away,” was a major hit, peaking at No.
4.
It also reached No.
7 in the UK.
Right NowAtomic Kitten

Atomic Kitten is a group produced by Andy McCluskey of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, and they are still active with changes in the lineup.
This debut single became a hit, reaching number 10 in the UK.
Right HereSWV

SWV, which stands for Sisters with Voices, originally started as a gospel group but debuted as an R&B group in 1992 and achieved great success.
Although Right Here peaked at number 27 on the charts, the subsequent songs I’m So into You, Weak, and Right Here/Human Nature all became top ten hits.
