Why not try making a small straw-hat brooch? You’ll need a plastic bottle cap, thick paper (cardboard), and jute twine.

First, glue the bottle cap onto a circle cut from the cardboard to form the hat shape.

After covering the whole surface with double-sided tape, start wrapping the jute twine.

Wrap from the outside toward the inside; the key at the beginning is to wrap so that the twine extends slightly beyond the edge of the cardboard.
