Handmade Anpanman Toy Ideas (11–20)
Puzzle

Puzzles are said to enhance imagination and concentration.
So here’s an idea for a fun puzzle you can make.
All you need is a milk carton.
Cut it into parts to form squares, then combine them to create a mechanism where the faces rotate—imagine four blocks rotating inward.
Once that’s done, design a character on each face and you’re finished.
The fun part is that as you rotate the faces, different characters keep appearing one after another.
milk carton car

Here’s an idea for a milk carton car that you can actually ride and enjoy.
This project uses a plant stand with casters and milk cartons to make a vehicle.
Once the base is complete, cover it with felt and decorate it.
The visual design is up to you, but it’s a good idea to use popular characters as motifs.
You could also model it after an Anpanman car.
By the way, the plant stand with casters can be purchased at a 100-yen shop.
It’s a very cost-effective idea, don’t you think?
Picture matching cards

Here’s an introduction to a memory-boosting toy: matching picture cards.
These are cards made with felt, featuring different characters.
The cards come in pairs and are played like Concentration.
It’s fun to design lots of popular characters like Jam Uncle and Dokin-chan.
You’re free to choose which characters to include, so why not research which ones the children like? By the way, using felt from a 100-yen shop is perfectly fine.
Sandwich shop
How about making a sandwich toy inspired by Anpanman characters? Try creating baguettes shaped like Anpanman or Shokupanman’s faces, as well as fillings like ham, cheese, and vegetables.
The basic material is felt.
Since the baguette needs thickness, you’ll have to stuff it with cotton and sew it, but I think the other parts can be assembled by gluing them together.
Be sure to make it with your child’s favorite characters and enjoy some pretend play!
chain drop

Let’s make a toy called a “chain dropper” using a milk powder can! It’s very easy to make.
Attach the parts of Anpanman’s face to the lid of the can, then cut out the mouth area with a utility knife.
After that, secure the lid with tape so it won’t come off, and just put the chain inside! Little kids love putting things into small holes like this—and they love pulling them out, too! It’s a simple toy, but it’s a classic favorite among children.
Give it a try!
finger puppet

Why not try making a cute Anpanman finger puppet out of felt? The part that goes on your finger will serve as the body, so sew the face base onto it and attach Anpanman’s facial features.
For the eyebrows and mouth, it’s better to use short pieces of thread rather than felt.
Use red felt for the body, but since that alone can look a bit plain, be sure to recreate Anpanman’s outfit details and cape as well.
When cutting out the small circular pieces for the nose and cheeks, I recommend using a hole punch.
cloth picture book

Why not try making a fabric picture book inspired by Anpanman? Fabric books are a staple toy for babies.
They often crinkle, include features that promote finger development, and pack in all kinds of clever ideas.
Let’s try making one by hand.
With your own ideas—like a buttoning activity using Anpanman’s face, peekaboo flaps or matching games with various characters—you can create a delightful fabric book.
If you’re not confident at sewing, using felt and glue to craft it like an art project is a great recommendation!
rattle
A rattle that could be called a baby’s very first toy.
Let’s try making one with an Anpanman motif.
Prepare something sturdy like a roll from plastic wrap or poster paper, then wrap it with construction paper or colored tape.
Attach the faces of Anpanman characters to the round openings.
Make the faces out of construction paper, and cover them with clear tape so the paper won’t get damaged and the toy will last longer.
Since the core is hollow, put bells or beads inside.
When a child holds and shakes it, it makes a sound and they’ll have fun!
Making bath bombs with candy molds

Fun to make, and a joy to use! Let me show you how to make bath bombs using candy molds.
You’ll need a dish or other container, a spoon, baking soda, citric acid, potato starch, essential oil, food coloring, water, and empty candy containers.
Anpanman gummy molds are so cute that it feels like a waste to throw them away, right? How about mixing the ingredients and hand-making your own Anpanman bath bombs? If you make them with kids, it’ll feel like a fun science experiment that gets them excited.
Anpanman chair made from milk cartons

Let’s make it with your kids! Here are ideas for making an Anpanman chair using milk cartons.
You’ll need newspaper, colored packing tape, and 14 milk cartons.
It’s a handmade chair sized so children can sit comfortably.
You can use this chair anywhere in the house—like in the bathroom or a play kitchen corner—without worrying about the location! It’s also great because kids can carry it by themselves.
By changing the tape colors, you can make chairs of other characters too, so have fun customizing!
