Making Easter eggs

When it comes to games on Easter Day, the Easter egg hunt is the first thing that comes to mind.
So here are some ideas for making your own Easter eggs.
This way, you can enjoy it twice—during both the making and the hunting.
When you start, it’ll be smooth if you use the eggshell as a mold and decorate on it.
Simply painting over it with colors will make it look beautiful, and you can also decorate it however you like with your own creativity.
By adding your personal touch, you’ll grow even more attached to your Easter eggs.
Have a fun Easter!
playing hanami (pretend cherry-blossom viewing)

Hanami is spending time eating and chatting while gazing at cherry blossoms that bloom in spring.
Here are ideas for a pretend hanami themed around this quintessential spring event.
Spread a mat under a cherry tree, then sit and play together with family or friends.
Use items you’ve made in advance from origami or construction paper to enjoy the unique hanami atmosphere.
Preparing springlike music so you can sing and dance is also a great idea.
It’s an April activity that lets you experience many things, like making bento lunches and taking photos.
Spring handprint art making

As a craft idea for reminiscing, making spring handprint art is also recommended.
This activity involves pressing handprints onto white paper and using them to depict various motifs.
For example, press a handprint at an angle to suggest butterfly wings, or press two in a V shape to represent a bouquet of flowers.
Looking back later, you’ll be able to feel the changing seasons and growth.
When you get started, having an ink pad and wet wipes ready will make things go smoothly.
It could also be fun to come up with motifs beyond the ones introduced here.
Torn-paper collage with flower tissue paper

Let’s make torn-paper art using softly colored tissue paper! Since you don’t need scissors, it’s safe and easy for kids to try.
Prepare tissue paper with a spring theme—like cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, and tulips—and tear it into small pieces.
If you use tissue paper with gradients, you can express the flowers’ vivid colors even better.
Next, draw the tree trunk on construction paper.
Apply glue to the blank areas and stick on the torn pieces to finish.
This spring craft idea lets kids enjoy tearing square sheets and sticking them on.
It’s an activity that brings out children’s creativity in the size and shape of the petals and more.
Origami: Tulip

Tulips, loved for their cute shape and beautiful colors, are one of the flowers that represent spring.
How about trying to fold such tulips with origami? It’s fun to make them in various colors like red and yellow.
You can paste the folded tulips into a picture or stick them directly on the wall as decorations.
You can also pin one to your chest like a corsage, or use them as embellishments for origami accessories.
First, let’s all master how to fold them together!
take a walk

When spring comes and it gets warmer, I think taking a walk around the neighborhood can be fun.
You can really feel the change of seasons with your own body, and it’s a good amount of exercise.
You might head straight to a park to play, or observe plants and trees along a riverside embankment.
Try finding a favorite walking route.
Depending on the number of people, it can also be a good idea to split into two routes or destinations.
That way, it’s easier to maintain safety, and children are less likely to get bored with the walking course.
Sing a spring song

Singing songs is also recommended as an activity you can enjoy indoors.
If you sing spring songs like “Haru ga Kita” or “Sakura,” you can feel the arrival of spring even on days that aren’t suited for going outside, such as cold or rainy days.
It’s also great to move your body by adding hand games or dances.
I hope you’ll sing, get moving, and have lots of fun.
Start by choosing your favorite song.
If you become interested in the flowers or creatures that appear in the lyrics, it’s a good idea to connect that interest to your next activity.
