List of Artist-Hosted Festivals Nationwide [2026]

There are music festivals all over Japan, but this time we’ve gathered artist-organized festivals from across the country.

Because these festivals are hosted by the artists themselves, you can feel the bonds and connections between artists, as well as their passion for the festivals.

You can enjoy a different atmosphere from ordinary festivals.

Osaka Prefecture

KOYABU SONICSep 21 (Mon) – 23 (Wed), Osaka Prefecture

Koyabu Sonic is hosted by Chihiro Koyabu, a hugely popular TV personality known for Yoshimoto Shinkigeki. The event will take place over three days using Halls 2 and 5 at Intex Osaka. In addition to performances by the Yoshimoto Shinkigekis band—formed by Yoshimoto comedians who are expanding their activities across the country—many comedian stages are also planned.

OSAKA HAZIKETEMAZARE FESTIVALSat 10/24 – Sun 10/25, Osaka Prefecture

The outdoor rock festival HAZIKETEMAZARE, hosted by Osaka rock band HEY-SMITH, will be held again this year. It originally started as an event at live music venues, but later moved outdoors. It has finally become a staple of summer outdoor festivals. HAZIMAZA is an event full of playful spirit that only HEY-SMITH can deliver.

Taro Hakase Music FestivalMay 30 (Sat)–31 (Sun), Kyoto Prefecture

The HAKASE TARO Music Festival is a revamped version of the annual summer festival hosted by Taro Hakase since 2002, relaunched with a new concept in 2019. Held as an outdoor festival in two locations—Kyoto and Tokyo—both venues are places where you can feel Japan’s history, offering a new experience of enjoying contemporary music. In Kyoto, the venue is a shrine, promising an even more special time. Exploring Kyoto’s history or strolling through the city before attending the event will likely enhance the way you enjoy it.

Kyoto Grand OperationSat 7/4 – Sun 7/5, Kyoto Prefecture

It’s a summer festival hosted by 10-FEET, a three-piece rock band from Kyoto. It began in 2007, but the inaugural event had to be canceled due to a typhoon. However, there’s a saying that festivals canceled by a typhoon in their first year go on to become beloved and popular events… True to that saying, this festival has seen various legends unfold every year—perhaps thanks to the mysterious power of the organizers, the three members of 10-FEET, and all the attendees. The overall atmosphere is known for being warm and friendly among both performers and visitors. It’s an essential event that marks the start of summer in Kyoto.
