Yuta Orisaka is a singer-songwriter who plays his voice like an instrument.

At times fragile and forlorn, and at other times powerful—as if unleashing a surge of emotion welling up in the chest—he uses a range of vocal colors to express the world he has witnessed.

Born in 1989 in Tottori Prefecture, Orisaka spent parts of his childhood living in Russia and Iran, and later grew up in Chiba Prefecture.

The breadth of his musicality likely stems from having engaged with the wider world rather than being confined to a single place.

One of his recommended songs is Asagao, which shares its title with the drama for which it serves as the theme song.

Shingo Hasegawa is an enka singer from Yonago City in Tottori Prefecture.

While many people are active as enka singers, Shingo Hasegawa stands out as a somewhat unconventional enka performer.

When you think of enka, you might picture someone in traditional Japanese attire or a calm outfit, singing with poise.

But he’s an enka singer who performs while dancing with sharp, high-energy moves.

The fact that his specialty is hip-hop dance is even more surprising.

His appearance also differs a bit from the typical image of an enka singer, making him unforgettable once you’ve seen him.

Margaret ~Beyond Those Sand Dunes~hacto

Singer-songwriter hacto, who hails from Tottori City, is an artist with an irresistibly gentle singing voice.

Their stage name, “hacto,” is said to be derived from the ancient Tottori legend Inaba no Shirousagi (The White Hare of Inaba).

Brimming with love for Tottori, hacto based their live performances in Tottori Prefecture; however, after the Great East Japan Earthquake, they came to believe that songs can bring energy and courage to disaster-stricken areas, and began actively performing live in the Tohoku region.

A recommended track is “margaret ~Ano Sakyuu o Koete~” (Margaret ~Beyond Those Dunes~), which features the sand dunes!
