Why not try making a plump, three-dimensional goldfish? First, fold the origami paper in half, then fold it in half again vertically, and squash-fold it into a triangle.

On one side only, fold up the edge of the triangle to make a square, then fold both ends inward into triangles.

Turn it over and fold the back side differently.

On the back, fold up only one side and glue it firmly.

Blow air through a straw from the side of the fin, and your plump goldfish is complete.

If you make them in various colors, you’ll end up with a very colorful set of goldfish.

Easy Stag Beetle

Origami stag beetle: easy folding instructions
Easy Stag Beetle

Let me introduce the stag beetle, the superstar of summer bug-hunting.

You can make it with a single sheet of origami paper.

First fold it into a square and crease it, then open it and fold both sides toward the center line.

Next, change the angle and tuck the paper in so it puffs up into a triangle like an umbrella to form the stag beetle’s pincers.

Carefully fold and shape the legs as well.

Finally, adjust the shape to finish.

Using different colors of origami will give you your own original stag beetle.

It might be cute to give it a unique name too!

Cute crab

Cute crab

Searching for crabs that often hide among rocks in the sea or rivers can be a wonderfully seasonal and fulfilling activity for children.

Here’s a simple origami crab you can make.

Fold into a triangle and a square to create creases.

Using those creases as guides, tuck the paper inward to form a triangle and shape the model.

While aligning with the central starting point and center line, fold and bend to create the crab’s claws and legs.

A key tip is to press the folds firmly.

Draw eyes on round stickers, attach them, and you’re done!

Super easy! Shaved ice

Super easy! Shaved ice

Let’s make a cold and delicious summer classic—shaved ice—using a single sheet of origami paper.

Fold the paper into a triangle, and as you crease it, shape it into a shaved ice form.

The key is to create a rounded look for the shaved ice as you go.

Use bright, summery colors of origami paper.

Once it’s finished, decide what flavor you want and color it with markers.

It’s also a great idea to make fruit or other toppings and add them on.

Give it a try!

Easy-to-understand lantern

Simple Origami “Lantern” Folding Method ~How to Make Summer Festival Origami~ [Easy-to-Understand Voice Guide] | Origami Japanese Lantern
Easy-to-understand lantern

Let’s fold a paper lantern, the kind you often see at summer festivals.

First, fold the origami paper in half, then fold back about 1 centimeter at the top and bottom.

Next, fold it vertically, and fold both sides inward toward the center crease so they face each other.

Then make a small reverse fold, fold the corners into triangles, and form the colored-edge side into a ring and flatten it.

That’s it—you’re done! It’s fun to add a pattern in the middle, and using multicolored origami will give you a vibrant lantern.

Give it a try!

Perfect for summer! Penguin

[For 5-year-olds] Let’s try it! Seasonal origami: “Penguin”
Perfect for summer! Penguin

Let’s fold a refreshing summer penguin with origami.

Prepare one sheet of origami paper.

Fold it into a triangle to make a crease.

Using the crease as a guide, fold the penguin’s body.

Make sure the left and right sides are symmetrical.

For the wings, fold carefully so the tips come to a point.

For the face, fold in the corners to create a rounded look.

Once finished, draw the eyes and enjoy displaying it on the wall or as a summer class project.

Summer Sunflowers

[Preschool Crafts] Summer Origami Project: Cute Sunflowers
Summer Sunflowers

Let’s make a summer sunflower.

Prepare by gluing yellow and orange origami paper together so that the colored sides face outward.

Fold the paper in half and crease firmly, then open it up and continue folding while aligning with the center.

Fold each corner inward, then fold the left and right sides along the center line of the folded section.

Open the folded section while lifting it up, and keep folding the tucked parts to form the sunflower shape.

Finish by fitting a piece of brown origami, folded for the center, into the middle of the completed sunflower.

Give this summer sunflower a try!
