Festival Outing ActivityNEW!

Speaking of summer, it’s all about festivals! Many of us spent wonderful times there with our parents as children.
Stalls selling yakisoba and shaved ice, goldfish scooping, and shooting games still line the streets just like the old days.
If you visit a festival as an outing, older adults will surely feel a childlike excitement bubbling up.
The lively atmosphere unique to festivals will likely bring out more smiles.
Let’s all create new festival memories together while wrapped in that nostalgic ambiance.
Overseas outing recreationNEW!

This piece is about taking a trip to the seaside to experience sensations like walking on the sand and the distinctive wind that blows there, helping people feel the grandeur of nature.
Rather than ending with just the fact that you visited the ocean, let’s make sure you sense being near the sea with your whole body.
It’s a place with many distinctive features, starting with its smell, so those sensations might help you recall memories later on.
If you can also enjoy seaside activities and leisure, you’ll likely feel the atmosphere of the ocean even more.
BBQ partyNEW!
@lavitauno What should we do for Father’s Day? After discussing it in the dining committee, we decided that this year we’ll gather the male residents and have a barbecue! Five of them joined from the cooking stage, making it an unprecedented event where the men cook and eat “men’s fare” together. A barbecue in the 4th-floor garden under the hot sun—did they enjoy it, I wonder? 😁BarbecueAll men only#Father's DaySpecial Nursing Home for the ElderlyRecruiting Care Workers

Some of you may have fond memories of going to the river in the summer when you were young and enjoying BBQs.
With this idea, let’s relive those nostalgic days by cooking and having a BBQ together.
You can chop vegetables with a knife, grill meat, and make yakisoba or toasted marshmallows.
Just dining outdoors on a nice day can be refreshing, so please enjoy it within a comfortable range.
Let’s create new, unforgettable BBQ memories!
dagashi shopNEW!

When we were kids, going to the penny candy shop was one of life’s little joys, wasn’t it? So how about incorporating a candy-shop activity as part of a Father’s Day event? Prepare a selection of traditional sweets and enjoy some pretend play with real money exchanges.
Some people might say it’s been over a decade since they last bought dagashi, so it’s sure to be a hit.
After enjoying the make-believe candy shop, everyone can have a tasting time together! With those nostalgic treats in front of you, memories are bound to start flowing.
Takoyaki GameNEW!

At festival food stalls, many people probably choose takoyaki to eat.
So let’s include a takoyaki game as one of the summer festival activities.
Use chopsticks to pick up the prepared takoyaki and pack them into a container.
Compete with a few people—the first to finish packing wins! Become a shopkeeper and give it a try.
You can easily make the takoyaki by wrapping colored paper around crumpled newspaper.
Because takoyaki are round, it’s trickier than it looks, but it uses fine motor skills, making it perfect for older adults.
Handmade Senbonbiki (lottery string pull game)NEW!

When it comes to festivals, senbon-biki (the thousand-string pull) is a must! You pull one string and get the prize it’s connected to—it’s exciting and fun wondering which one you’ll win.
I’m sure it will bring back childlike joy for older adults as well.
Senbon-biki sets can be rented or purchased online, making them easy to include in events.
If you want to keep costs down, a handmade version is also recommended! You just punch holes in a cardboard box and thread strings through, so it’s easy to make, and the strength should be fine for one-time use.
Balloon fireworksNEW!

It’s a game where colorful balloons gently float up, giving you the festive feel of fireworks.
Create an enclosure with newspapers or similar materials, then fill it with plenty of inflated balloons to prepare.
You can adjust the quantity and size to suit the participants, so no worries.
When you toss in a vinyl ball, the balloons spread out all at once, prompting spontaneous cheers.
The sense of achievement when you make them fly high, and the smiles it brings to onlookers, are part of the charm.
It’s lively, heart-lifting fun—perfect for summer.
