Baby Massage Songs: Interactive songs for parent–child bonding (21–30)
Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Clap

Also known as a fingerplay song, “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Clap” can be enjoyed as a bonding play song.
You can touch and play along with the child’s whole body to the music—head, shoulders, knees, eyes, nose, ears, and mouth.
When doing baby massage, it’s recommended to adapt the words to parts like “cheeks, tummy, legs” or “cheeks, back, bottom.” As they grow older, children can enjoy it as a fingerplay by touching their own bodies in time with the song.
Cucumbers are ready.

Try bonding with your child using the popular kids’ song “Kyūri ga Dekita” (We Made Cucumbers).
It’s also a great choice for baby massage.
Pretend your child is a cucumber—sprinkle salt, slice it… and in the end, gobble it up! During baby massage, sing it slowly and enjoy the gentle rhythm; as your child grows, sit face-to-face and use it as an interactive play song.
You can also spice it up by changing the parts—like touching hands instead of feet—to make the play more dynamic!
French bread

It’s a very familiar melody, and listening to it is soothing.
Just like the title says, you pretend the baby is a baguette, spreading jam or cream and adding cheese.
You gently stroke their arms and legs in time with the song.
And at the end, you make munching motions.
The sudden tickles will probably surprise the baby—and make them smile.
Because it’s such a simple game, it’s an easy baby massage song to adapt.
But… this is a bit of a tangent, doesn’t a baby’s upper arm kind of look like bread…?
from top and bottom

Communicate with your baby using a towel! Flutter the towel to the rhythm of the song and send a gentle breeze.
If you use a fan, the wind might be too strong and startle your baby.
A towel’s breeze is probably just right.
As the song goes on, gradually increase the strength of the wind.
Since you’re not touching your baby directly, they might enjoy the different sensation compared to regular baby massage with body touch.
Let’s enjoy this cozy, heartwarming time together!
Row the boat

This is a lower-body exercise massage for babies.
Stretching and bending the groin area improves circulation and feels good, doesn’t it? The baby in the video looks happy, too.
The song is simple, and the cute lyrics make me smile.
It’s easy to memorize right away!
Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

It’s nice to add the baby’s name to song lyrics—it gives a special feeling! Babies are delighted when they hear their own names! When you add sparkly gestures and gently wiggle their hands or feet, the baby mysteriously breaks into a smile.
Since it’s a song everyone knows, moms can enjoy singing along too.
Pop goes the egg.

If you give the egg a little pop and crack it, it turns into a raw egg, a fried egg, or a boiled egg! With a mama’s touch, let’s give a child’s face plenty of gentle caresses.
When they’re a baby, you can do it while they’re lying down like in the video; once they can sit up, it’s fun to face each other and play.
As they grow older, it’s also a song you can enjoy as a hand-play song.
It’s nice that you can adapt it to their age.
