certificate tube
There are times when you think, “It’d be nice to have a tube I can roll things into,” like when you receive a certificate or need to take home printed materials you don’t want to crease.
Here’s an idea for making a certificate tube using a plastic wrap core! First, cut the main body and the lid from the wrap core, and seal one end with a circle of thick paper.
As is, the lid won’t close, so glue a slightly smaller wrap core—trimmed to just the right size—along the inside of the main body to act as an inner sleeve.
Finally, cover it with fabric or add decorations to your liking, and your custom certificate tube is complete!
Nichirin Sword from the anime Demon Slayer

Even adults want to tuck a sword like the ones in anime and dramas at their side and play at sword-fighting! For you, we recommend making a Nichirin Sword from Demon Slayer, which became a hit with kids and adults alike.
If you prepare two plastic wrap cores with different inner diameters, you can make both the sword and the sheath.
Create the guard (tsuba) of your favorite sword using thick paper, punch a hole to pass the wrap core through, and cover the blade section with black or silver colored paper.
Decorate the handle as well, and attach gold origami to the top and bottom of the sheath to finish.
Your child would probably be delighted if you make one for them, too!
small accessory case

Here’s a craft idea for making a small container using a cut paper wrap core.
The materials are a wrap core (cardboard tube), thick paper, felt, and origami paper.
First, attach circular pieces made from thick paper to the cross-sectioned ends of the tube to create the container body and lid.
After sewing felt onto the outside of both the body and the lid, insert a slightly taller cylinder made from origami paper inside the body and secure it so it follows the inner wall.
Finally, decorate the lid, and it’s complete! For decorations, use whatever you like, such as felt pieces, large beads, or rhinestones.

It also sounds fun to make a ring toss game.
The process is quite simple.
First, prepare a cardboard box for the base.
Next, lay the box on its side and cut a hole in the side that’s the same size as a plastic wrap core.
Then just insert the core into the hole, and you’re done.
That alone is plenty of fun, but you can add your own twists, too.
For example, you could stand several cores upright or decorate the cores with tape.
Create a one-of-a-kind ring toss game!
Flower-shaped round case

This is a round case assembled into a flower shape using the cores from plastic wrap.
Simply cut the wrap cores, arrange them in a flower shape and glue them together, then attach a lid that surrounds the whole piece.
Just arranging circles won’t make it look like a flower, so use decorations around the edges and on the lid to clearly create a floral look.
It’s also recommended to cover the wrap cores and the lid with felt before adding decorations, as it gives a soft, cozy feel.
You might also decide first what you want to put in the case and then choose the overall colors and embellishments based on that.
In conclusion
Using empty wrapping paper rolls for crafts can greatly expand children’s creativity.
It’s truly the charm of crafting that such fun projects can be made with simple materials.
Find your favorite idea and add your own personal twist.
Enjoy making a special craft that will become a memorable part of your summer vacation.
