Santa poncho with hood

[Santa Poncho] How to make children’s Christmas costumes
Santa poncho with hood

This is a Santa poncho with a hood, perfect for Christmas events at kindergartens and daycare centers.

Why not make it on a budget using large sheets of felt you can find at 100-yen shops? Another plus is that ponchos can be worn by children of a wide range of ages.

You make the poncho section and the hood separately, then sew them together at the neckline at the end.

Adding pom-poms to the tip of the hat and the ties makes it even cuter! Also, attaching snaps at the cuffs to fasten them will keep the poncho from flapping around and make it easier for your child to wear.

[100-Yen DIY!] How to Easily Make a Knit Cap with a Homemade Knitting Loom ✨

This is a knit hat made using a DIY loom created from partition boards.

Want to handcraft a Christmas-colored hat in red and white yarn that will be perfect for winter using items from a 100-yen shop? Bend the partition boards by skipping one slot at a time, then cut along the bent sections and connect two boards with masking tape.

Apply masking tape to the cut edges, align both ends to form a circle, and leave a yarn tail while making a loop.

Hook the yarn twice from the far side onto the peg to the left, then repeat the process of pulling the lower yarn toward the inside of the circle.

After threading the yarn tail from bottom to top and removing all loops from the hooks, pull the excess yarn to tighten and secure the inner stitches to finish.

A Christmas cake hat that’s exciting to make as well as wear.

With this, your Christmas party is sure to be even more fun.

First, prepare a rectangular sheet of construction paper and treat it like a cake, decorating it as you go.

Try attaching fruit shapes made from paper, for example.

Then roll the paper into a cylinder to turn it into a hat.

You can also customize it as you like by adding three-dimensional decorations, such as ones modeled after Santa Claus.

A Santa hat with a unique, fun look.

To get started, prepare construction paper and the parts for Santa’s face.

You can pre-make the face parts from construction paper or print ready-made ones.

Then make a cone out of the construction paper, imagine it as Santa’s face, and attach the parts.

Finally, add a ribbon or a string for wearing, and it’s done.

You can enjoy it as a hat, and it also looks cute just placed on a table.

When it comes to Christmas hats, most people picture something inspired by Santa Claus.

But it might be fun to try a hat with a different twist once in a while.

That’s why we recommend a reindeer knit beanie.

Use brown and beige yarn, and crochet it into a design that looks like a beanie with reindeer ears and antlers attached.

Inspired by Santa’s reindeer, it would look great when worn by multiple people together.

The knitting method is a bit complex, so check YouTube videos for guidance.

Felt and pom-poms

I tried making Santa hats (adult size) in various colors using felt and yarn from the 100-yen shop!
Felt and pom-poms

Using felt and yarn, you can make a comfortable-to-wear Christmas hat.

First, prepare felt in your favorite color and white yarn.

The process has two main steps: start by sewing the felt to create a cone-shaped hat.

Then make a pom-pom from the yarn and attach it to the tip of the hat as a decoration.

All the materials can be bought at a 100-yen shop, so it’s an easy idea to try.

The feel changes depending on the color of felt you use, so experiment to find what you like.

Santa hat made with a sewing machine

When it comes to Santa Claus’s charm point, it has to be his red hat.

Let’s make a Santa hat using red and white fabric.

Fold the fabric in half and cut from the top of the hat with scissors, but here’s the trick: don’t cut the very end—leave it connected.

For the red fabric, sew it together while leaving the opening where the hat will be worn.

For the white fabric, after sewing, turn it right side out, and another tip is to make a small slit at the edge.

After turning both the red and white fabrics inside out and sewing them together, flip them right side out to finish.

Try making a Santa hat where the red really stands out!
