Easy! Magic tricks that will liven up a Christmas party: Simple tricks and their secrets (41–50)
The Vanished Coin

An upside-down wine glass and a coin are placed next to each other.
When you lift the glass and move it to cover the coin, the coin seems to disappear—like magic.
The reason is simple: there’s a piece of paper attached to the glass that matches the color of the mat underneath, making it look as if the coin vanished.
If you hide the glass with a napkin or something similar before moving it, the performance will feel even more magical.

Toothpick Jumping Magic

Sometimes you just want a simple magic trick you can show to the person sitting next to you at a party.
For that, I recommend the jumping toothpick trick.
It’s a very simple and cute trick, and I think it’s perfect for women to perform as well.
It requires no gimmicks or props and can be done with just a bit of practice, so I highly recommend it.
The Trump cards that should have been torn…

Cut off a piece of a playing card and fold it up small.
When you unfold it—like magic—the torn card has returned to its original state.
You do need to prepare a duplicate card with the same face, which means you’ll end up sacrificing one deck, but it’s still a trap-style magic trick well worth performing.
Christmas tree decorations emerging from an empty tube

Since it’s a magic trick for a Christmas party, it’s better to have something with a Christmas feel, right? If you’re looking for that kind of trick, I recommend a magic trick where Christmas tree decorations appear.
In this trick, ornaments come out of a tube that appears to be empty.
The routine continues until you actually decorate the tree with them.
A scrap of paper transforms into a banknote

A scrap of paper turns into a banknote in an instant when you burn it…? It’s a dreamlike magic trick.
If it really made your money increase, you’d want to do it over and over, right? (lol) The secret is that you have a banknote folded up small inside the hand that’s holding the scrap of paper.
Then you light the paper, and when it starts burning, you wave your hand as if to put out the fire and quickly produce the banknote you were holding.
Since using fire is dangerous, you could also try a version where, instead of fire, you move your other hand skillfully over the paper as if casting a spell.
A magic trick where a coin passes through a water-filled glass

This is a simple magic trick you can do with a clear plastic cup, water, and a 10-yen coin.
Fill the clear cup with water and hold it in one hand.
With your other hand, press a 10-yen coin against the cup and… the coin appears to be inside the water! What’s more, there are no holes anywhere in the cup, and no water is leaking.
The secret is very simple: the 10-yen coin is actually inside the cup from the start, positioned out of sight by the angle and the way you hold it.
When you press another coin against the cup to make it look like it’s going in, you’re actually still holding that coin in your hand.
A magic trick where a coin and a smartphone go inside a balloon

An ordinary rubber balloon: a coin pressed against the surface of an inflated balloon appears to go inside.
Then you inflate it even more and, supposedly, even a smartphone fits completely inside—the magic trick.
The secret is that the coin is preloaded inside the balloon.
The coin you press from the outside is a dummy; while you pretend to push it in and show the coin inside, you secretly hide the dummy.
As for the smartphone, it only looks like it goes in—what actually happens is you press the inflated balloon against it so the balloon wraps snugly around the phone, making it seem as if it’s inside.
