Set to an intense punk rock sound, words that stay close to lonely souls resound.

Released by Soshina in September 2024, this track showcases a musicality that transcends his label as a comedian.

It was also chosen as the ending theme for the anime Blue Orchestra.

The music video features a hearing-impaired high school girl and introduces a bold direction that lets viewers experience a reversal of sight and hearing.

It’s a song I especially want people with a haze in their hearts to hear.

Soshina’s kindness comes through clearly throughout the track.

DokiDokiKisstaiya panku

The unit “Tire Punk,” played by JARUJARU on the variety show Ariyoshi no Kabe, features silver-painted faces, robot-like dancing, and cool-headed trivia for a hilarious act.

JARUJARU is a comedy duo from Yoshimoto Kogyo formed in 2008.

Their popularity has risen in the Heisei-Reiwa era, and they’re regulars on Ariyoshi no Kabe.

The surreal worldview of the song “DokiDokiKiss” becomes even funnier thanks to the duo’s chemistry!

Formed on the YouTube “Samaazu Channel” as a winter-only unit by the veteran duo Samaazu and solo comedian Ryo Fukawa, Uinters.

Their 1st single, “Natsu mo Fuyu mo” (Summer and Winter), was produced by Ryo Fukawa under his musical moniker ROCKETMAN.

The contrast between lyrics that reflect where each of them stands now and a floating, airy ensemble gives the humor a certain bittersweet depth.

It’s a heartwarming number with a message of camaraderie that feels just right.

While best known as a comedian, Nakayama Kinnikun also thrives as a bodybuilder, and his songs are characterized by their healthy, humor-filled content.

This work is a bright pop tune themed around ketchup and mayonnaise.

With rhythmic call-and-response chants and simple choreography, it’s crafted as an exercise song that kids and adults alike can enjoy.

Released in October 2023, it drew attention as a collaboration track with Kewpie and Kagome.

In the music video, Nakayama Kinnikun himself performs the fun choreography.

It’s the perfect song for getting the whole family moving or kick-starting a solution to lack of exercise.

Love’s Spice Curryyyyyy! ~Naan refills are free~bakkudoroppu tāmerikkus

A special project unit by Michopa and Taka and Toshi, Backdrop Turmeric s.

“Koi no Spice Curry-eeeeee! ~Nan Refills Are Free~” is a song that shines a spotlight on curry and pro wrestling—two themes frequently featured on the esports variety show “Ariyoshi eeeee! So! Mind if we come over and play games now?” Produced overall by Kenmochi Hidefumi of Wednesday Campanella, its addictive arrangement is catchy while showcasing each member’s individuality.

It’s a pop tune so polished it stunned the show’s cast—and one you can’t help but hum along to.

I’m a manzai comedian from Naniwa.Yokoyama Yasushi

Beloved nationwide—especially in Osaka—by the nickname “Yassan,” the manzai comedian Yasushi Yokoyama is known as a legendary, genius performer, particularly for his duo “Yasukiyo Manzai” with Kiyoshi Nishikawa.

While he’s often described as wild and unpredictable, he was also a deeply warm-hearted person, and his way of life perfectly matches the world of enka.

“Ore wa Naniwa no Manzaishi” (I’m a Manzai Comic from Naniwa) is a song released in 1988, written and composed by Yokoyama himself.

Be sure to listen closely to its richly flavored lyrics, which seem filled with his true feelings and his life story!

This is their second single, released in 2014.

Fly or Die is a visual kei rock band led by Makita Sports, well known from TV Tokyo’s popular show “Godtongue” and its Comedians’ Serious Song Championship segment.

It’s an excellent parody of visual kei bands.

In conclusion

Hit songs created by comedians overflow with a charm that goes beyond laughter.

When a comedian’s expressive power fuses with music, it may just give birth to a tune you can’t help but hum along to.

As a music fan, it’s a joy to witness the moments when sensibilities honed on their main stage shine brilliantly in the world of song.

I’m sure many more such tracks will be born in the future!
