A four-member group led by Shou Kiryuin, known as Japan’s first visual-kei air band.

Since around 2010, they have continued to garner attention in the music industry.

Dominating as the kings of air bands with performance stages that don’t involve playing instruments, they enjoy overwhelming popularity.

RIVER when you don't have timeyonseikyu

With briefs and happi coats as their trademark, you could call Su-xing-cyu (Shikoshikku/Four Star Ball) one of Japan’s representative comic bands.

Their song “RIVER for When You Don’t Have Time” is astonishingly short at just 10 seconds.

It originated from 10-FEET’s must-play live and festival anthem “RIVER,” and they sing only two bars of it.

Su-xing-cyu performed this on the stage of Kyoto Daisakusen, the summer festival hosted by 10-FEET, and then the original band 10-FEET also closed with those two bars, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

It’s an easy-to-copy, guaranteed-to-hype track (lol).

The Grand Prix-winning song of the 1981 Yamaha Popular Song Contest.

It turns rock ’n’ roll thoroughly into a gag.

The vocalist Shigenori Takahara later changed his stage name to Aniki Takahara, and in 2007 he produced a string of hits such as “Shuuchishin” on the TV show Quiz! Hexagon II.

Many people probably think that the duo of Yuzo Gucci and Fuyuki Moto, who were regulars on impression/impersonation shows, is Busy Four.

However, fewer people now know that they originally were a four-member comic band, which also included Uganda, the original chubby/plus-size TV talent.

They made their major debut in 1986.

Their trademark is a strong Osaka flavor, featuring comedy-sketch-style banter and lyrics with a heavy gag-driven worldview.

The band was popular in the 1980s and 1990s, but went on hiatus in 1996.

They have since resumed activities.
