[Video and Music] A Stylish Vocaloid MV Showcase
Last updated:

When Vocaloid first started to become popular, it was common for videos to use a single still image.

Nowadays, there are many visually engaging works that make full use of animation, live-action footage, and 3D CGI.

Displaying lyrics in sync with the music has also become standard.

In the very early days, there were very few videos like that.

In this article, I’ve compiled Vocaloid songs whose music videos are irresistible to watch and show a clear dedication to visual craft.

Enjoy the world of VOCALOID with your eyes and ears!

Flowers drawn on pastel-colored construction paper.

It’s a stylish piece that uses various illustrations with organic designs.

The track is by R Sound Design, also known for works like “Teikoku Shoujo,” and it was released in 2018.

Even though the visuals themselves don’t move, perhaps due to the editing and color palette, it never gets boring.

It’s a highly polished PV with a cohesive feel that matches the music.

How the Devil Danceskonnichiwa Tanida-san

Recommended for those who enjoy dark worlds.

This work cuts out various photos, animates them, and creates an eerie atmosphere.

It features a track by the Vocaloid producer Hello Tanita-san, known for high-sense guitar rock sound, and was released in 2018.

Even though it only repeats simple movements, why does it feel so frightening?

Tokyo GhettoEVE

This is Eve’s “Tokyo Ghetto,” which drew attention through activity on Niconico and YouTube.

It skillfully captures the feelings of young people who are afraid to move toward their ideals, and on top of that, it’s seriously cool.

The stylish visuals fill every corner of your mind without leaving any gaps.

unceasingly indigoShishi Shishi

This is Shishi Shiji’s fourth work, “Taemanaku Aiiro,” released in 2018.

The brisk piano accompaniment, which skillfully uses semitones and fits the sound perfectly, is really catchy.

The video, set against a neon city backdrop, is incredibly stylish as well.

While there are pieces featuring Hatsune Miku, the songs he sings himself are also very popular.

This song features cool visuals with a collage art vibe—eclectic and mysterious.

It’s “Bokura wa Minna Imi Fumei” by PinocchioP, a multi-creator who also handles his own illustrations and video production.

It was released in 2017.

The track itself is quite distinctive, blending playfulness with stylishness.

With an irresistible, soaring chorus, it’s an emotional piece I can wholeheartedly recommend.

anpanNEW!ATOLS

ATOLS – Anpan feat. Hatsune Miku
anpanNEW!ATOLS

An art tune woven with unsettling electronic sounds that the title could never suggest.

It’s a track by Vocaloid producer ATOLS, released in April 2026.

Despite the everyday motif of “anpan,” the anxiety-stirring sound arrangement is so cool.

Over about two and a half minutes, you’re captured by a bizarre, unstable sonic world.

The lyrics also stand out, making you feel as if your mind is being peered into.

Recommended for those who want to experience an extraordinary, other-dimensional space.

You’ll be captivated by its original timbre.

‘eyelock,’ produced by ariiol, premiered as a video in March 2025.

The track unfolds around an advanced riff on clean guitar, layering cool beats and glitchy vocal work from Nurse Robo_Type T for a compelling, multi-faceted sonic approach.

True to its title, the digitally artistic music video is striking and eye-catching.

If you’re looking for music unlike anything you’ve heard before, give it a listen.
