A stylish selection of Vocaloid songs: The moving world of VOCALOID (1–10)

whinysurii

Memeshi / Surii feat. Kafu
whinysurii

This is a stylish Vocaloid track that heightens the mood for romance.

It’s a song by Surii, also known as the creator of the mega-hit “Telecaster B-Boy,” and it was released in 2021.

The relaxed, airy sound arrangement is wonderful.

It’s a soothing piece that calms the heart as you listen.

Kafu’s slightly husky vocals likely contribute to that effect as well.

And not being able to straightforwardly express your feelings to someone you like… many listeners will surely relate to the emotions conveyed in the lyrics.

snoozewotaku

snooze / wotaku feat. Hatsune Miku
snoozewotaku

A cute, aggressive, and stylish EMD track.

It’s a song by the Vocaloid producer wotaku—known for many hits like “Gehenna” and “Mafia”—released in 2021.

One of its charms is the unpredictable song development.

It’s a high-quality piece that keeps you engaged right up to the very end.

The depth and breadth of wotaku’s musicality are on full display here.

There’s also a version by the singer SHIKI, so be sure to check that out as well.

cutleryyūkisan

Organic Acid / ewe “Cutlery” feat. Hatsune Miku MV

It feels breezy on the surface yet steeped in lingering attachment—a heartrending message song that evokes parting from someone dear.

It’s a track by Yuukisan, a Vocaloid producer who also works as the singer-songwriter Yoh Kamiyama, released in 2017.

The sound arrangement, built calmly around a piano phrase, is stylish.

It gives the impression that the sound itself is tightly packed with bittersweet emotion.

There’s also a self-cover version sung by Yuukisan, so be sure to check that out as well.

collapse; fainting spell (colloquial/slang)iyowa

Its tumbling, rolling melody gets stuck in your head and won’t let go.

With a singular musical style that grabs listeners by the scruff of the neck, this is a track by Vocaloid producer Iyowa, released in 2021.

The sound arrangement—featuring tones and melodies that sit just slightly off the beat—is like building blocks.

It exudes an overwhelming sense of musical balance and taste.

The lyrics, steeped in loneliness, seem both aligned with the song’s atmosphere and intriguingly at odds with it.

Listen once and you’re trapped—welcome to the world of Iyowa.

Beat EaterPorisupikaderī

Beat Eater – Police Piccadilly feat. Hatsune Miku / Police Piccadilly
Beat EaterPorisupikaderī

It’s an electric tune with a somewhat retro vibe.

The track is by Police Piccadilly, a Vocaloid producer also known for “Kire Carry On,” and it was released in 2021.

It was written specifically for the mobile game “Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat.

Hatsune Miku.” Its cool, rhythmic style—especially the handclap sounds that stick in your ears—is a big part of the appeal.

It’s catchy and easy to listen to on repeat.

It might be a great fit as background music for a drive.

phonyTsumiki

Phony – kafu [Original]

Featuring an impressive high-speed rhythm with a hint of drum and bass, this track comes from Tsumiki, a Vocaloid producer known for their cutting-edge musical style, and was released in 2021.

The way it flips from a steadily building intro into a more understated progression showcases Tsumiki’s refined sensibilities in sound design.

With a B-melody that sticks in your head and a chorus that feels like an explosion of emotion, it’s a stylish Vocaloid song through and through.

Be sure to turn up the volume and listen with headphones or earphones.

Charlesbarūn

I think it’s a pretty classic, well-known song.

The steady composition and excellent lyrics are exactly what you’d expect from Balloon.

The lyrics feel like a cry from the heart, a prayer of sorts, and they really tighten your chest.

It’s perfect for when you’re feeling sentimental.
