CreepHyp’s greatest and most popular songs

Let me introduce some songs by CreepHyp, known for their characteristically feminine-sounding vocals.

Their high-pitched voice may be a matter of taste, but I feel their real appeal lies in their unique worldview.

In particular, the lead guitar riffs are incredibly beautiful and instantly pull you into CreepHyp’s world.

As for the origin of the name of their vocalist/guitarist, Seikaikan Ozaki: people used to say everywhere that “this band has a great worldview,” and because he disliked how vague the word “worldview” was, he decided to make it his own name so people would stop saying it.

Even so, I still think CreepHyp’s songs have that distinctly CreepHyp worldview, and it’s wonderful.

CreepHyp’s classic and popular songs (71–80)

Broken flowerkuriipuhaipe

It’s a single released on March 23, 2016.

It was used as the CM song for Yoyogi Seminar’s “YoZemi, Gokaku Kaikaku” campaign.

With its intense tone, it features a somewhat novel melody even among CreepHyp’s work, and its cryptic lyrics give it a distinct atmosphere that makes it a compelling listen.

sun; sunlight; yang (the positive/bright principle in Chinese philosophy)kuriipuhaipe

This is the commercial song for Tokyo Metro’s “Find my Tokyo.” It’s a collaborative track with KANA-BOON’s vocalist, Maguro Taniguchi.

With lyrics themed around finding happiness in the number of wrinkles on a bed, the arrangement—true to the title—feels warmly sunlit, making for a pleasantly comforting cover.

Blown by the windkuriipuhaipe

Blown by the windkuriipuhaipe

This is a track from their indie-era album “From the Landing With Love.” The song’s themes are suicide and wind.

While that might evoke a negative image, vocalist Ozaki portrays the wind as a positive expression, turning it into a forward-looking song about choosing not to commit suicide.

It’s a sentimental and emotive cover.

Dangerous Playkuriipuhaipe

Dangerous Playkuriipuhaipe

A Creephyp song that portrays emotions swaying between love and desire.

It sings of a woman’s struggle: though she places herself in a forbidden relationship, she truly longs for a deep bond.

While seeking a superficial connection on the surface, the protagonist harbors a desire to be loved deep down—her complex feelings resonate with a bittersweet, beautiful melody.

Released in January 2020, it was also used as the ending theme for Fuji TV’s “Ukemén.” It’s a recommended track for those troubled by love or wishing to face their true feelings.

Convenience Store Lullabykuriipuhaipe

The song’s title and lyrics come from Yo Ikenaga’s novel “Convenience Store Lullaby.” The song centers on a man who works at a convenience store.

Each word can be read as a convenience store clerk’s feelings, and it skillfully expresses the balance between a convenience store that’s open 24/7 and his feelings for his girlfriend.

These days it’s easier than ever to explore different genres, but I think J-rock fans remain as passionate as ever.

For junior high school students who love J-rock, I recommend “Zarameki” by CreepHyp.

The song has a cohesive feel reminiscent of indie rock and dream pop, with gently undulating melodies throughout.

As a cutting-edge J-rock track, it might be the perfect song for trend-savvy junior high students.
