CreepHyp’s greatest and most popular songs

Let me introduce some songs by CreepHyp, known for their characteristically feminine-sounding vocals.

Their high-pitched voice may be a matter of taste, but I feel their real appeal lies in their unique worldview.

In particular, the lead guitar riffs are incredibly beautiful and instantly pull you into CreepHyp’s world.

As for the origin of the name of their vocalist/guitarist, Seikaikan Ozaki: people used to say everywhere that “this band has a great worldview,” and because he disliked how vague the word “worldview” was, he decided to make it his own name so people would stop saying it.

Even so, I still think CreepHyp’s songs have that distinctly CreepHyp worldview, and it’s wonderful.

This is the B-side track to the second single, “Shakai no Mado” (“Society’s Window”).

It’s a song that satirizes shallow relationships and words.

If you listen while focusing on what’s inside the relatively mildly drawn lyrics, you’ll find discoveries that make it interesting.

It’s a song with a sound that’s very CreepHyp-like.

This is a straightforward cover by a cool male vocalist.

CreepHyp’s song is a work with a unique worldview that portrays the inner conflict and concealed true feelings of its protagonist.

The figure of the protagonist, unable to express honest feelings toward the one they love and resorting to stopgap responses, resonates deeply with listeners.

Released in 2015 as their eighth major-label single, it was also used in a commercial for Myojo Ippeichan Yomise no Yakisoba featuring Suzu Hirose.

In the music video, the members each play characters with different life backgrounds, expressing conflicting emotions.

It’s a perfect track for a refreshing summer drive, capturing blue skies, summer, and youth, and it has won the hearts of many listeners.

This song was used as the theme song for the 2017 film Teiichi: Battle of Supreme High.

As you can see from the music video, I think this “ito” evokes the strings of a marionette.

It also gives the sense of wanting to turn those controlling strings into threads of fate, which feels like a very CreepHyp way of using words.

Are there any other artists with a song title like this? They even riff on their own song, and the lyrics sarcastically go, “It’s kind of similar, kind of similar, kind of similar to the last song.” Maybe that’s exactly the charm of CreepHyp.

This is a track included on the 2015 single “Ai no Tenmetsu” (“Blinking of Love”).

Its relaxed lyrics and sound are soothing to the ear.

The music video, created as part of the “Love Project” between Morinaga Milk Industry’s Creap and CreepHyp, is a must-see.

This track features dazzling guitar work on a blues scale reminiscent of old-school American rock, and it builds into a soaring, quintessential CreepHyp sound in the chorus.

It’s a song they always play live—the kind that makes you want to throw your hands in the air.

Honey and the Bathroomkuriipuhaipe

As the sensual title “Honey and the Bathroom” suggests, this track captivates with lyrics that metaphorically depict the physical union of a man and a woman.

Yet it’s rendered with deep sentimentality, and many listeners may find themselves moved to tears.
