Has the railway crossing sound changed!? Railway crossing sounds that are evolving

This work is a recording of how the sound of the town’s railroad crossings has evolved to the latest version.

Compared to the conventional high-pitched alarm, many of the latest ones are more subdued in their acoustic impact, indicating consideration for the surrounding residential environment.

As a comparison video, it’s an interesting piece that lets you directly compare how they sound.

The sound of the railroad crossing

This is a sound effect piece in which the sounds of a railroad crossing are recorded with great clarity.

Since it is a field recording, noises such as train running sounds and wind hitting the microphone are included, but it is also a valuable work that lets you enjoy the raw sound of a railroad crossing.

As it is an audiovisual work, it is best enjoyed in a calm environment.

[1-Hour Endurance] Railroad Crossing Alarm Sound

[1-Hour Endurance] Railroad Crossing Alarm Sound

This work features an hour-long recording of orthodox railroad crossing sounds.

In my personal view, given the nature of the sound, it doesn’t seem very suitable for use while working, but not only is the audio quality itself maintained at a very high level, it also contains no extraneous noise whatsoever, making it a pleasure to enjoy.

This is a field recording of railroad crossing sounds from overseas.

You can hear that the pitch is slightly lower than the orthodox Japanese warning sound, but it still clearly reads as a railroad crossing sound in its own right.

The audio was captured cleanly, and the video was easy to listen to from start to finish.

This is a video piece where, along with blaring train whistles, you can hear the clanging “kaan! kaan!” of a railroad crossing.

The sound is quite loud and powerful, so if you wear headphones and listen at high volume, you can feel an immersive sense of being right there on the scene.

This work is a comparative collection of signal sounds from crossing gates in rural areas overseas.

It has been recorded with great care, allowing you to sense the unique character of each crossing you listen to.

As a piece of nature recording, some sections include noise and the hustle and bustle of people, but it remains a valuable work that offers a rare encounter with overseas crossing gates.

This piece is a recording of a railway crossing on a rainy day.

The signal uses a high-pitched “ching-ching!” tone that seems like it could be heard from quite a distance.

The train’s horn is also impressively loud, making this a strongly recommended work for anyone who wants to enjoy the atmosphere of a level crossing.
